Night club male dancer cornered in buy-bust 
BAGUIO CITY – A night club male dancer was arrested here Wednesday around 2 a.m. inside Mineski Computer Shop, Bonifacio St.in a drug buy-bust operation.
Nabbed was Reynaldo De Castro, 28, dancer of Grande Island. Confiscated in his possession were  white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing 1.50 grams valued at  P27,000 and marked money of P500 bill.

Cops join pot session; arrest two users
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Cops conducted a drug operation here around 8 p.m. Tuesday in a stall at Backfill, Barangay Pico by pretending to participate in a pot session that led to the arrest of two persons identified as James Acquita Acosta aka Jaime Molina Apellido 33, porter and Roland Guitala Abriam aka Lokoy, 21. Seized during the operation were alleged shabu and drug paraphernalia.

Woman arrested for estafa; denied bail
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- Police arrested here Wednesday a certain
Marilou Sangot Alyong, 50 for estafa after judge Jennifer P. Humiding of Regional Trial Court, First Judicial Region, Branch 63, La Trinidad, issued warrant against her for four cases of estafa and one case of syndicated estafa. Humiding denied bail for the last case. Alyong was in the local police list as second most wanted person.

Waiter cornered for rape
KAPANGAN, Benguet – Police arrested a man here Tuesday for two counts of rape. Police named the suspect as Jeffrey Carias Andizo, 21, waiter who was arrested in his residence here at Sitio Lebeng, Pudong. This, after Marietta S. Brawner-Cualing, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court, Family Court of Benguet, Branch 9, issued warrant for his arrest.

Farmer wanted for rape found in Natonin
NATONIN, Mountain Province – A farmer was nabbed here Tuesday for homicide. Arrested at Barangay Alunogan was Sixto Wansen, 44 after Sergio T. Anganay, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 64, Abatan,Buguias, Benguet ordered his arrest setting bail of P50,000 for his temporary liberty. Buguias cops, who tracked him here brought the suspect to the town known for its vegetables.

Man arrested for rape in Tabuk
TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A certain Jordan “Dandan” Gallema, 27 was arrested here Tuesday by police led by Supt. Charles Logao Domallig in Barangay Tuga for rape. This, after warrant of arrest was issued against him issued by Marcelino K. Wacas, RTC Judge, 2nd Judicial Region, Branch 25,  Bulanao, Tabuk City.

4 female students hurt as tricycles collide
MANABO, Abra --  Four female college students were injured here Tuesday in a vehicular accident along Manabo- Sallapadan  road particularly in Barangay San Jose Sur involving a tricycle driven by Sidfrey Domingo Pastores , 31 with his back rider Ninoy Tayan Bobiles,  29 and another tricycle driven by Jeffrey Lingbaoan Sales, 34.
Injured were passengers of Sales named as Cherry Mae Dalipog Amante , 17; Myra Fe Banasan Batoon, 16 and twins Rachelle Anne and Anne Marie Catriz Ganeb, both 23. All injured were students of Abra Valley Colleges and residents of Barangay San Ramon West.
All injured persons were brought to Manabo Rural Health Unit for medical attention. Pastores and Bobiles were found to be under the influence of liquor. The tricycle driven by Pastores is now under the custody of Manabo police.

 Farmer hacks farmer in drinking session 
ALFONSO LISTA, Ifugao – A drinking session of relatives here Monday turned bloody when a farmer hacked a fellow farmer who is now in critical condition. A police report said the incident happened at Sitio Kamanggaan, Busilac, wherein the victim was identified as Mateo Rico Ohomna y Pinkihan, 30, while the suspect was named as Edwin Laranang , 29.
Investigation revealed the victim and the suspect with their relatives were having a drinking session when a heated altercation ensued between the two and the suspect suddenly hacked the victim on his forehead and left abdomen.
Responding lawmen rushed the victim to Potia District Hospital for medical attention but was transferred to a hospital in Santiago City, Isabela for further treatment due to severity of injury. The suspect was brought jailed here at the local police station.
  
Farmer nabbed for homicide 
NATONIN, Mountain Province – Cops nabbed here Tuesday a certain Sixto Wansen, 44, farmer, and resident of Sitio Sagapa, Barangay Alunogan for homicide. This, after acting presiding Judge Sergio T. Anganay, Jr, of RTC Branch 64 Abatan, Buguias Benguet issued arrest warrant against him.

Wondrous posts bail for estafa 
BAGUIO CITY -- Police arrest a certain Wondrous Joseph Luyun Guanso, 27, self-employed,  ofLedesma Street East Modernsite Aurora Hill here after
Delilah N. Gonzalez-Muñoz, presiding judge of  MTC Branch 1, La-Trinidad Benguet issued warrant against him for five counts of bounding checks. The judge  set bail of P5,000 for each count but the suspect presented a release order stating  he already posted bail.

Vendor selling near cemetery draws knife on lawmen 
BAGUIO CITY -- A vendor who was illegally plying his goods at the entrance of the public cemetery here was arrested after he pulled out a knife and tried to attack members of the public order safety division for telling him to leave the area as he was obstructing the way of people going inside for All Saints Day.
The suspect was irked and drew a kitchen knife from his waist but he was subdued by POSD personnel. The suspect and the confiscated knife were turned over to police.

Jeep falls down Abra river; driver, 4 hurt 
LA PAZ, Abra -- An owner-type jeep driven by Juanchio Biscarra Escala, 50, government employee accidentally fell on the river beside the road here Monday around 7:30 p.m.
Police investigation disclosed  the driver, with  four passengers were heading towards Poblacion  but along the way, he lost control of the steering wheel of the vehicle making it hit the concrete barrier of the road and later falling into the river. The driver was reportedly under the influence of liquor. The victims were all taken by concerned citizens to Abra Provincial Hospital, Bangued, Abra for treatment. Injured were Jovan Balaoro Apos, 24; Federico Alvaro Pariñas Sr., 30  and Albert Vilar, 52. They were discharged after receiving first aid treatment while the driver, who sustained multiple injuries and lacerated wound on his lip and Rogelio Parado, 59, who had a fractured right forearm, were confined at Abra Provincial Hospital for further observation.

Seven senior citizens escape burning house
BAGUIO CITY -- The third floor of a house owned an occupied by a certain Tony Garcia Buenafe, 79, retired Meralco employee was burned here Monday around 9 p.m.
Police said the house was located at 56 Brentwood Village, Barangay M. Roxas.
Investigation revealed the housemaid who was sleeping at the second floor noticed smoke coming from the 3rd floor where the owner was sleeping, prompted her to shout and awaken seven occupants, who were all senior citizens. 
The owner said when he was awakened by their housemaid, he noticed that some of his clothes and personal belongings including a portion of the ceiling were burned. 
Members of the Bureau of Fire Protection led by SFO4 Biato Poschor declared the fire out an hour later. Cause of fire is still unknown and damage was pegged at P300, 000. No person was reported injured during the incident.

 Man wanted for rape in Abra nabbed in Pasay
MALIBCONG, Abra – Police of this town arrested a laborer wanted for rape Oct. 30, at the Victory Liner terminal in Pasay City. Poli e identified the suspect asJerry Balani Mamanao, 31, of  Barangay Dulao Mataragan, Malibcong, who was residing in San Vicente, Silang, Cavite.
Corpuz Alzate, presiding judge of the RTC, Branch 2, Bangued, Abra issued his arrest warrant for four counts of rape with no bail.
The suspect was brought back to Malibcong where he is now detained.

Drunk bocap jailed for threatening motorists with gun
MANABO, Abra – A drunk man was jailed here Monday for threatening to fire his gun at passing vehicles and persons. Police identified the suspect as Dennis Beleno Felina, barangay chairman of Luzong.
A police report said cops received a call from a concerned citizen informing them that a drunk man was threatening vehicles passing along Manabo-Luba Provincial Road particularly at Barangay Sto. Thomas. Cops went to the area but the suspect already left using his motorcycle. They found him at Luzong while threatening the driver of a vehicle identified as Reymar Bobiles, 28, and his two companions identified as Jesus Bolesa, 43, married, farmer and James Vargas, 23, all residents of San Ramon East, Manabo  by firing his firearm twice to the air and pointing the muzzle of the firearm to them.
 Confiscated from the suspect was one Cal. .40 Glock pistol with one magazine loaded with seven bullets. Also recovered from the crime scene were two fired cartridge cases of Cal. 40.  The suspect was brought to Abra Provincial Hospital for medico legal examination and subsequently brought to Manabo police station  with the firearm where charges were prepared against him in court. 

Company worker from Bohol drowns in Bokod
BOKOD, Benguet – A company worker was found drowned Mondya around  12:30 p.m. at Adwagan River, Sumbrero, Ambuclao here. The victim named as  Louie Asilum Tankawan, 17, employed by the BICHEM Coating and Chemicals Company and native of Tobigon, Bohol.
 Investigation disclosed that the victim and his companions were fishing while at the river when strong current swept the victim away. His companions tried to rescue him but this turned futile. Police and firemen recovered the victim’s body  around 3:40 p.m. that day. The body was brought at the Lapaz Funeral Holmes, Baguio City.

15-year-old student dies in Buguias truck accident  
BUGUIAS, Benguet – A 15-year-old student was killed while two others were injured when they Elf truck they were riding in bumped  a cement parapet here around 3 p.m. Oct. 30 here along Lusab, Catlubong.
Police named the driver as Jerico Butag Butata, 21, farmer of Tocokan, Tinoc, Ifugao. He told police he experienced loose brake causing the truck to turn upside down twice until it bumped the cement parapet.
As a result, one of the occupants identified as Razel Talac Butata, died on the spot while the driver and his helper, Benson Bugtong Liwan, 20, farmer were rushed to the Abatan Hospital in Buguias but later brought to Baguio General Hospital for  treatment.
Investigation disclosed the truck was loaded with vegetables from Tinoc headed to La Trinidad, Benguet when the accident happened. The lone fatality found lifeless by responding concerned citizens was brought home to Tinoc. The truck incurred heavy damage..

Truck with relief goods for typhoon victims loses breaks
BOKOD, Benguet -- A 10-wheeler truck bearing relief goods to Paracelis, Mountain Province for victims of Typhoon Lawin lost its breaks along Ambuklao Road at Apalan, Tinongdan Itogon around 7:30 p.m. Oct. 23 forcing the driver to bump it on elevated roadside.
The truck owned and driven by Rey A. Depago, 39, male of Baayan, Tublay, Benguet told police the truck was rented by the DSWD regional office in Baguio City. It was loaded with government relief goods (1,800 boxes of food packs, 1,800 sacks of non-foods, 48 sacks of blankets and 15 rolls of trapal) for Typhoon “Lawin” victims in Paraceles. Police and and concerned citizens transfered relief goods into another 10-wheeler truck for delivery.

82-year-old widow missing
BOKOD, Benguet – An 82-year-old vegetable vendor is still the object of a serach after she went missing here Oct. 22. She was iodentified by police as Angelita “Manay” Deras Balagot a resident here of Minac, Ambuclao. 
Investigation revealed around 8 a.m. on Oct 21, Balagot accompanied by her two granddaughters went to check their water line at her garden. The granddaughters stayed inside a shanty while their grandmother went to the source of water along the creek. At about 12 noon,  their grandmother did not return which prompted them to follow but failed to locate her. At around 3, they returned again to look for their grandmother but they didn’t find her so they went home and informed their aunt and neighbors. Seaarch operations were done by relatives, concerned citizens and police but they were not able to find the widow.

Retired US Navy officer found dead in bungalow                         
BAGUIO CITY – A retired US Navy officer was discovered lifeless lying on his bed around 4 p.m, Oct 23. inside his bungalow at Corral Camp Site Compound, Pinsao Proper here by Mark Bacayan, 27, resident of no. 443 Zarate Village, Pinsao Proper. 
Found dead was Wallace Sinot Woolery, 60 who was living alone at his residence and was last seen alive by Bacayan when he brought food to him at about 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 22.
The following day, the victim was found lifeless by Bacayan when he went to return the motorcycle he borrowed. According to Lidia Banawag Bilag, and his other relatives, the victim is suffering from diabetes and was bitten by a dog four days ago.
Police checked the body and found healing lacerated wound and a dog bite at the victim’s right palm. An autopsy was set to be conducted.  Personal belongings of the victim such as laptop and cellular phones were intact. The cadaver was moved to Bahay Damayan.

‘CIDG agent’ jailed for threatening to shoot porter        
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A man who introduced himself as a member of the Criminal Investigation Detection Group who threatened to shoot a porter was jailed and charged with ususrpation of authority and grave threat. 
A police report said the incident happened around 8:40 p.m. on Oct. 23  at Satos Resto Bar located at Km. 4, Pico on complaint of Richard Bandiza Tiongco, 28 against arrested suspect Clifford Comelet Buagan, 31, of JE-47 Central Pico.
Investigation revealed the group of the victim and the suspect were drinking liquor in a separate tables inside the said bar when suddenly a misunderstanding ensued between them. On confrontation, the suspect introduced himself as a member of CIDG and threatened him (“Intel ak CIDG kayat mo ta paltogan ka, kayat mo ta ilugan da ka, ta gaburan da ka ti carton”). The suspect grabbed the jacket of the victim but the victim was able to escape.  
Responding police brought the suspect, victim and witnesses to La Trinidad police for inquiry. Suspect was detained while cases were prepared for filing against him at the Benguet Provincial Prosecutors Office.
