reporter loses P6,000, phone in service car to thief
BAGUIO CITY – An
ABS-CBS television news reporter lost her bag containing P6,000, BPI ATM card,
cell phone among others to a thief who opened the door of their service vehicle
Wednesday around 2:13 a.m. here fronting Baguio Memorial Chapel, Naguilian
Road.
Police identified the
victim as Justin Mae Lico Aguilar, 20. Investigation disclosed the victim together with her team parked
their vehicle in front of the funeral parlor and left it unattended and went inside adjacent
7/11 Convenience Store, after which they went back to their vehicle and drove
towards their office located at 1st Road, Quezon Hill, Baguio City. Upon
reaching their office, victim discovered that her bag was missing while the
bags of her companions were still intact.
Cops reviewed the CCTV
footage wherein it revealed that the suspect seemed to be a male
minor who opened the left second passenger door of the vehicle and
took the said bag then left the place.
Gov’t
exec arrested for ‘graft’ in BSU
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet –
Police arrested a government employee here Wednesday around 10:40 a.m. at the
Benuet State University identified as Ben Dapios Ladilad, 65, resident of 27
Zarate St., Middle Quezon Hill, Baguio City
This, after Efren N.
De La Cruz, chairperson of Sandiganbayan, First Division, Quezon City issued
warrant against him for for violation of Section 3 (e) Republic Act 3019 known
as Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act docketed under Criminal Case No.
SB-16-CRM-0587. De La Cruz set bail of P30,000 for Ladilad’s temporary liberty.
Ladilad presented a
certification from Sandiganbayan that he posted bail on Dec. 5, 2016.
Carnapping
lands man in Tabuk jail
TABUK CITY, Kalinga –
Police arrested here Wednesday a certain Adonis Miranda Bren, 37, after warrant
was iddued agaisnt him by Reymundo L. Aumentado, presiding judge of RTC,
2nd Judicial Region, Branch 20, Cauayan City, Isabela for carnapping. The
judge set bail of P180,000 for Bren’s temporary liberty.
Farmer
nabbed for rape in Atok
ATOK, Benguet – A
farmer was nabbed here Wednesday in Sawingan, Naguey, for rape. The suspect
identified as Pacito Padsico Manalo, 68 farmer, was arrested after Marietta S.
Brawner-Cualing, presiding judge of RTC Branch 9, La Trinidad, issued warrant
against him for rape and acts of lasciviousness.
Suspect
in half million peso robbery surrenders
FLORA, Apayao – The
house of of a certain Lilane Magsanoc Nicolas, 44, farmer was allegedly robbed Wednesday by
another farmer with a cohort who took P412, 000 cash, black ladies watch
worth P500 and ring worth P150.
Police identified the
suspect as Windell Lagasca Tabili, 27, resident of Barangay Poblacion West
a still unidentified man.
A police report said
the incident happened between 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.when Nicolas victim left their house and went to
Tuguegarao City. At around 4:30 p.m. that day , her mother called her and told
their bedroom were forcibly opened by unknown perpetrators.
According to the
5-year old adopted son of the victim, when he arrived at their residence after
his class, he saw the two male persons inside their house and when they noticed
him they hurriedly ran to unknown direction. Cops lift six latent prints
from the crime scene for verification. The possible entrance and exit of the
suspects was the unlocked main door when they forcibly opened the two bedrooms
by using a crowbar. At press time Tabili
reportedly voluntarily surrendered to police.
Waiter
stabbed by Bangued customer
BANGUED, Abra – A
waiter was stabbed by a customer in the Detachment Bar here Wednesday around
9:30 p.m. and is now in critical condition. The victim was identified as
Alexander Bitonio, 32, while the suspect was named as Christopher Bersamin.
Investigation bared
the suspect together with Dominic Lazarte, 42 and Darwin Buentipo were
drinking at the bar. While the victim was scolding his nephew because he was
blocking his way while he was doing his job, the suspect thought the victim was
shouting at him and got angry that caused a fistfight with the suspect
stabbing the victim on his back with the use of a bladed object used for
cockfighting (tari). The victim was rushed by the security guard of the
bar to Abra Provincial Hospital while the suspect fled. The suspect is now at
large.
Man
arrested after shabu found in house
LAGAWE, Ifugao – A man
was arrested here after shabu was found in his house here Monday night at
Macmac-ac, Poblacion East.
Cops nabbed Richard
Butticon “Guduy” Kidayan after they
confiscated shabu in two plastic sachets and drug paraphernalia in his
house.
Abra
construction worker, student nabbed for guns
BANGUED, Abra – Two
persons were nabbed here last week for having in their possession handguns
loaded with bullets.
A construction helper
identified as Emedio Addongay “Miding”, 54, of Linasin, Zone 1, was
arrested in his residence here Tuesday night after cops confiscated from him a Cal.
38 with three bullets and three fired cases.
In San Juan town, cops
arrested Mayonel Pagud Dela Cuadra, 19, Grade 11 student here Dec. 4 at
Barangay Guimba for having in his possession a Cal. 45 gun loaded with six
bullets.
Dairy
farm guard nabbed for firing illegal gun
BAGUIO CITY – A security
guard identified as Von Zion Andres Maslang, 21, stay-in duty guard at
Dairy Farm under the Dept. of Agriculture was nabbed at main gate of the farm
Dec. 4 after he fired in the air his shotgun. Cops arrested him after he failed
to present documents of said firearm.
Charges
for attempted murder set against farmer
ALFONSO LISTA, Ifugao –
Charges are set to be filed against a farmer here for attempted murder after he
reportedly tried to kill a housewife here whom filed complaint with police on
Monday
Police identified the
complainant as Marivic H. Bedey 43, against Ruben A. Barut, 43, of Barangay San
Jose.
Investigation
conducted disclosed that on Nov. 18, around 9 p.m., Barut to the
house of the victim and kept accelerating his motorcycle, shouting at the top
of his voice challenging and threatening to kill her husband Ceasary Harry
Bedey.
When she come out and
answered, that her husband was not at home, the suspect pointed a handgun to
her and squeezed the trigger twice but the gun did not fire. Incident was
witness by Marivic’s 16-year-old daughter. Case was referred to the barangay
and three mediations were made but no settlement was reached. Case was referred
to the Prosecutor’s Office.
Construction
worker shot dead while trying to enter cop’s house
BAGUIO CITY – A
construction worker was killed when the gun he was holding went off accidentally
hitting him when he tried to enter the house of a police officer. A police
report said the incident happened Tuesday around 10 p.m. here at Loakan
Maridith involving PO2 Akiwa Cayda, of Baguio City Police Office.
Investigation
disclosed Cayda was sleeping together with his family at the sala when he was
awakened when someone was trying to open their main door. The police officer
shouted asking the identity of the person and why he is trying to open their
door but there was no response outside.
After a while, he
noticed that someone was opening the window beside the main door so he shouted
again by introducing himself as police officer. However, there was no response
from the person and still continued to open the window.
Cayda then peeped at
the window by sliding the curtain and was surprised that the window was already
open. He saw a man who dropped a knife and immediately grabbed his firearm
which accidentally went off hitting the male person. The male person ran and
fell at the first floor where the main gate was located.
The intruder was later
identified as Jovanni Busilan Banes, 22, of No. 299 Loakan Maridith.
Responding scene of
the crime operations team leader Dr. Rodrigo Leal declared Banes dead on the
spot and was brought to Bahay Damayan for autopsy.
Lawyer’s
bodyguard shoots, hurts passing motorists
BANGUED, Abra – A
bodyguard of a lawyer here shot a passing motorist while he was drinking liquor
in front of the lawyer’s house around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. A police report
report said the incident happened near the residence of lawyer Allen Bachiller
at Zone 5.
Right after the
incident, responding cops cordoned the area while a certain PO3 Parinas
proceeded to the hospital and identified the victim as Edmar Pacis Baoit,
27 who was shot twice on his shoulder..
During interview, the
victim said a certain alias “Tae” of Barangay Lingtan shot him. Cops pursued
the suspects who in their haste left a red Motor Star motorcycle and Cal. 45 pistol with magazine at the crime
scene.
Polcie said later a
male person who claimed to be a victim of the said shooting incident was
brought to police station where he identified himself as Jayrel Bragas Piscoso,
alias “Tae”, 25, single, a resident of Barangay Lingtan, a civilian back-up security of Bachiller. Investigators brought Piscoso to
the hospital wherein the victim positively identified him as the person who
shot him. Consequently, Piscoso was placed under arrest.
Found at the crime
scene were a Colt .45 pistol loaded with
five bullets, six empty shells for Cal. 45; and two deformed slugs.
Police said the victim
and his companion John Loyd Berame were on board a red motorcycle when they
passed by the front of Bachiller's residence when the suspect who was drinking
redhorse beer at the store suddenly shot them hitting the shoulders of the
victim.
Baoit ran towards the
town proper but was chased by the suspect. Meanwhile, his companion John Loyd
ran towards unknown direction leaving their red motorcycle. Investigation is
still going on to determine the owner of the recovered firearm at the crime
scene. Case is being prepared against the suspect who is now under the
custody of Bangued police.
Men in
army uniform forcibly take contractor’s dump
truck
MANKAYAN, Benguet --
Three unidentified male persons wearing army camouflage uniforms, combat boots,
bonnets and armed with handguns forcibly took a mini-dumpt truck here in Cada,
Balili around 11 p.m.Dec. 5
A police report said
the truck with plate number RJF 116 was owned by James Nanam Gonzalo, 53,
contractor and resident at Dizon Sub., Baguio City.
Investigation
disclosed the three men asked the key of the vehicle while pointing their guns
to Rhaoland Ancheta Madarang, 18,
laborer and Wilfredo Gahutan Malapit, 31, of Binalonan,
Pangasinan. After getting the key, they tied the victims inside their shanty
and drove off with the vehicle. The victims were laborers of Gonzalo.
Modus
operandi of SM thieves known
BAGUIO CITY – Beware
of modus operandi of thieves in this summer capital. A 60-year-old woman lost
her belongings including P15,000 to a gang here mid noon of Dec. 4 inside Swiss
Baker, inside SM, Luneta Hill.
Police named the
victim as Maria Fedelinda Borrero Morales, while suspects were four females and
two males who aided one another in stealing her back pack.
Investigation revealed
that the victim having a snack at said bakery and was using her cell phone when
one of the suspects called her attention and pointed to two pieces of P20
dropped on the floor. The victim stood up and picked the bills then went back
to her table and discovered her bag gone.
She reported the incident to the security guard
and police who viewed CCTV footages inside the said bakery. It revealed
suspects surrounded the victim then one of the male suspects took the victim’s
bag and passed it to the other female suspects then scampered away.
Allegedly, the
victim’s bag contained more than P15,000 cash, ATM cards, credit card, assorted
medicines, prescription papers among other cards and papers.
Construction
worker killed, two hurt while stealing truck
TUBA, Benguet -- A
construction worker was killed while two of his co-workers were killed when a
truck they stole from their boss, a contractor, rolled over the road here in Barangay Badiwan
on Monday.
Initial investigation
showed Fernando Mano Wakit who was driving the truck lost control of the wheel
when it encountered mechanical problem while driving down the road.
A police report said
the incident happened Dec. 4 around 7:30 p.m. in front of construction site here
along km 5, Marcos Highway, Sto. Tomas Proper.
Police identified the owner
of the truck as contractor Joselito Ogay Tan, 51.
Wakit died in the accident
while Brandy Mano Marano Jr., 38, and Ser-ayen Cabat Masadao, 20 were seriously
injured.
Investigation
disclosed the victim received a cellphone call narrating that his blue dump
truck was involved in a vehicular traffic accident along the viaduct in Badiwan.
Victim learned that
his truck was taken away by his above-mentioned his construction workers
without his consent.
The dump truck was
totally wrecked and the suspects were seriously injured. Wakit was declared
dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Personnel of Tuba MPS
responded at the incident which resulted to the arrest of Masadao and Marano
Jr. and recovery of the truck.
Charges for carnapping
were filed against the suspects.
Man
fetches girlfriend,loses Isuzo Trooper car
BAGUIO CITY – An Isuzo
Trooper car was stolen here Tuesday around 12:10 a.m. along Hangar Market,
Hilltop on complaint of Raymond Atelba Monte, 32, of Kibungan, Benguet and
resident at km 6, Betag La Trinidad, Benguet.
Monte told police he
discovered the vehicle he borrowed bearing plate number XBJ 912 owned by Rogel
Sukil-ap, his town mate was missing at the place where he parked.
Investigation
disclosed Monte parked the said vehicle unattended along Hangar Market around
10 p.m. Monday, then went to fetch his girlfriend and after coming from the
vegetable stall which she was tending, they proceeded where the vehicle was
parked but was surprised that it was
gone.
Theft
lands man in jail
MANKAYAN, Benguet – A
certain Joel C. Paytokan, 22, laborer, was arrested here Monday along Cervantes
Road, Poblacion after Jonathan Chavez Segundo, presiding judge of MTC, Mankayan
issued arrest warrant against him for two counts of theft. Segundo set bail of P10,000 for each case for
the suspect’s temporary liberty.
Hungduan
house razed to the ground
HUNGDUAN, Ifugao – A
house was razed to the ground here Monday around 5:30 p.m. at Nabuyuc,
Nungulunan, police said, identifying the owner as a certain Pinniliw Tamingo.
According to Rodolfo M.
Dong-e, 44, barangay chairman of Nungulunan, the house was left by the owner
early morning of same day and went to work on their rice field when the
incident happened. He said the house was made of wood with galvanized walling
and roofing.
