NPA ‘assassin’ of PNP officer nabbed

SAGADA, Mountain Province -- Almost two years of
hiding from the law, the New People’s Army assassin who ambushed with his unit
and shot a police officer here on Feb. 21, 2015 was arrested Wednesday in
Parapad, Ambiong, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Arrested was Jacinto
“Digbay” Faroden who was
charged for frustrated murder following arrest warrant issued by Joseph
Patnaan, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court, Branch 35, First Judicial
Region, Bontoc, Mt. Province who recommended bail of P200,000 for his temporary
liberty.
A police report said Digbay was in the watch
list of Kilusang Larangang Guerilla Marco operating in Mt. Province.
The
suspect with his other companions who are still at large allegedly waylaid SPO3
Wilfredo Degay while the latter driving along the provincial road at Sitio
Dugo, Poblacion, Sagada, Mt. Province in 2015.
With
Degay during the ambush was his niece who was unharmed.
