44 nabbed, 21 guns, P120K shabu taken in Ilocos

CAMP FLORENDO, San Fernando City La Union – Barely a week after assuming as Region 1 police director, Chief Supt.  Charlo C. Collado has scored major breakthrough in campaign against illegal drugs and loose guns with arrest of 44 persons, confiscation of 21 illegal guns and P120,000 worth of shabu, it was reported here last week.

Collado said the arrest and confiscation of illegal guns are drugs were made in coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

                 In Pug-os, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, Senior Supt Rey de Peralta,  police director, reported Cherry Ann Sinco, alleged leader of Casin drug group, was arrested after police confiscated from her five sachets of shabu in  buy-bust operation.

                In another report, Peralta said Man-man Olivar of Daclapan, Cabugao also yielded two sachets of shabu.

Meanwhile, 13 persons were arrested for having in their possession illegally cut logs while eight other persons were nabbed for illegal gambling.
