Baguio honors cop killed in Marawi

BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Mauricio Domogan ordered the Baguio City Police Office to ensure this summer capital  is safe from terrorists like the Maute Group as it honored its hometown boy – Senior Insp. Fredie Solar – who was also killed in action in Marawi City in clashes between government troops and he terrorist group.
Domogan said he has met with police officials and “they (police) said they will do their own background investigation to make sure that those who come (to Baguio) are not here to do terrorism activities.”
The mayor expressed sadness over the death of Solar during the siege of Marawi last Tuesday.

Solar’s sister, Susan, posted on her Facebook page that it was her brother’s desire “dedicate his life to his profession and in serving the people of Mindanao.”
