Fisherman left by brod on boat later found drowned

BOKOD, Benguet –
Police are still trying to determine how a fisherman drowned at the Ambuklao Dam here Wednesday
around 3 p.m. when his brother allegedly left him.
According
to the victim’s brother identified as Christopher Smith Lachica around 2 p.m.
that day he and his elder broth Roberto, 54, were at the dam aboard a wooden
boat.
Before
Christopher reportedly left for for home, the victim told him that he would be
going to Sitio Binaljan, Barangay Nawal to attend the burial of their relative.
After an hour,
Christopher reportedly went back to the dam and noticed that only the wooden
boat was floating. He said he got worried and sought assistance from his uncle,
Ramon Guillermo, and his son, Romy, to help him locate the victim.
They tried
searching underwater but were unsuccessful. They later found and retrieved the
victim’s body around 3 p.m. The body of the victim was brought to their
residence near the area.
