Truck falls Bokod cliff; driver dies, another hurt

BOKOD, Benguet – The driver of an elf truck was killed while his passenger was seriously injured when the vehicle fell down a ravine here around 1 a.m. Wednesday at Sitio Palansa, Barangay Bila.

The truck with plate number UTW 201 was driven by Florante Danao, married, 36, farmer and local resident. Investigation disclosed the vehicle came from Palansa on he way to Ambangeg, Daclan, Bokod.

The driver was accompanied by Rell Jacinto, 40, farmer, also a resident of the same place.

While traversing the road, the vehicle accidentally fell on the right side of the 10-meter deep ravine.

Both occupants were brought to Dennis Molintas District Hospital in Daclan of this town for treatment but the driver was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Johnny Rhyman Salman of said hospital while Jacinto had multiple contusions.

The vehicle was severely damaged and still at the place of accident.
