Jail officer plunges down ravine in car

HINGYON, Ifugao – A Toyota Innova driven by a jail officer plunged down a 25-meter ravine here Tuesday around 1 p.m. along national highway at Sitio Magulon, Barangay O-ong.

The vehicle with plate number TCQ 267 was owned and driven by Adriano Saong, married, of Tadian, Mt. Province.

 Investigation disclosed that Saong was traversing the National highway from Mt. Province towards Lagawe, Ifugao, when the steering wheel of the vehicle suddenly locked. As a result, the vehicle drove through the opposite lane and fell down the ravine.

Police said the victim was conscious with no signs of external injuries but complaining of lower back pain when they rescued him.

Saong was brought by responding PNP and DOH personnel to Panopdopan District Hospital, Lamut, Ifugao for treatment.
