Man stabbed in mayor’s house

VILLAVICIOSA, Abra – A man stabbed a drinking mate here Monday around 3:50 p.m.at the town mayor’s house in Barangay Lap-lapog.

The victim was identified as Jovencio Dalipog, 56, while the suspect was named as Greg Dargo Lizardo, 41, both residents of the area.

 Initial investigation disclosed that both were having a drinking session at the residence of Mayor Jose W. Lagen Jr. in Lap-lapog when an altercation ensued between them which prompted the suspect to stab the victim on his neck.

The victim was immediately rushed to Villaviciosa Community Medicare Hospital but was later transferred to Seares Memorial Hospital, Bangued.

The suspect voluntarily surrendered to responding cops. The weapon used which was a 15-inchs knife was recovered. The suspect was brought to Villaviciosa Community Medicare Hospital for medico-legal examination and is now in the custody of Villaviciosa police while inquest was set.
