Former village chairman slain

BACNOTAN, La Union – A former barangay captain was gunned down by still unidentified assailants in Barangay Cabugao here Monday morning.

Former barangay captain Frederick Valin, 58, of the said barangay died on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds.

Initial investigation showed that the victim was on his way home on a motorcycle when he was attacked.

Pursuit operations against the suspects and further investigation are ongoing.
