Cops kill Bulacan drug
suspect
SAN ILDEFONSO, Bulacan -- A suspected
drug trafficker was killed in an alleged shootout with police officers here
Monday.
Ronaldo
Escalona, alias Muka, reportedly pulled out a gun after sensing he was dealing with
an undercover agent in Barangay Malipampang, according to Senior Supt. Chito
Bersaluna, Bulacan police director.
Escalona reportedly shot at the officers,
triggering a firefight that resulted in his death.
Probers said
they recovered from the suspect a .38 caliber revolver and a motorcycle.
OFW nabbed for estafa
TUBA, Benguet – A
certain Gina Bala-oy Inong, 47, OFW, resident of km 4 Asin,
Baguio City was recently arrested here for estafa after Cecilia Corazon S.
Dulay-Archog acting judge of RTC Branch 8 La Trinidad, Benguet issued
warant agaisnt here for estafa. The judge set bail of P28,000 for her temporary liberty.
Driver arrested for indiscriminate firing
TABUK
CITY, Kalinga – Police recently responded to an indiscriminate firing incident
that transpired in front of Apolinar residence here at Bado
Dangwa.
Investigation disclosed
around 8:30 p.m. of Nov. 16, Felicisima Safra and her driver identified as
Jay-ar Songasong Bumacas went to the house of Rona Apolinar near the
503rd Brigade to confront her about an issue being circulated.
Accordingly, Bumacas went inside and
forced Rona to go outside the house and talk to Felicisima Safra but she
refused and insisted that they should talk inside. Bumacas went outside then
proceeded to the area where he parked the car then gunshots were heard.
Responding personnel
received two empty shells of Cal. 9mm
recovered by Army personnel of the 503rd Brigade. A 9 mm pistol was
also turned over with one magazine and six bullets The latter was not able to
present any document hence, he was
arrested.
Farmer’s body found
BUGUIAS,
Benguet – A cadaver of man was found here recently at Barangay Bangao. The
cadaver was brought Nov. 16 to Lutheran Hospital in Barangay Abatan where it
was later identified as that of Julian Vicente Magastino, 46, single, farmer
and a native of San Ramon, Aglipay, Quirino Province.
Investigation
disclosed the victim had a drinking session with his co-farm workers afternoon
of Nov. 15 when his companions observed that Magastino was complaining of chest
pain. Around 5 a.m. of Nov. 16, he went home at his garden shanty and at around
6 a.m. that day, his neighbor found him lifeless inside his shanty.
Police arrest Korean, 4
others
CAMP
OLIVAS, Pampanga— Five persons, including a Korean, were arrested during
separate operations conducted by Central Luzon police.
Chief Supt. Joel
Napoleon Coronel, Central Luzon police director, said a combined police team
arrested Erick Marco in Barangay Dau, Mabalacat City, Pampanga.
Marco is wanted for
eight counts of rape and violation of RA 7610 with no bail recommended.
Another
team from the San Antonio police arrested Jenny Lactaoen, who is wanted for
qualified theft.
Also arrested was Dennis
Garcia, who has a standing warrant for attempted rape.
Meanwhile a team from
the Capas police and the Regional Intelligence Unit went to Balintawak, Quezon
City, and apprehended Joshua Salonga, who is wanted for robbery.
In Barangay Balibago,
Angeles City, police picked up Joo Hyun Lee, 40, for theft and serious physical
injuries.
“We will have no let-up
in our campaign against wanted persons and we will keep on conducting manhunt

OFW arrested for theft
LAGAWE, Ifugao – A
certain Joyce Hangdaan Buyuccan, 45, OFW, of Namulditan, Hingyon town was
recently arrested here by tracker team of Hingyon police headed by Senior Insp.
Cruzaldo Liwayan for theft. This, after Maria Clarita Casuga-Tabin, presiding
judge of MTCC, Branch 4, Baguio City issued warrant against her for theft. The
judge set bail of P 12,000 for her temporary liberty.
Woman accuses partner of maltreating her
BAGUIO
CITY – A 24-year-old woman filed a complaint against her live-in partner with
police for maltreatment. She said the incident recently happened here at Manga
Road, Sitio Ongasan, Barangay Loakan Proper.
Police
named the complainant as Sarah Joy Santos, 24. Sshe told policeshe had a
heated argument with her partner Aldrin Racho, 29.
Investigation disclosed
during the altercation, the suspect tapped the victim’s head, slapped her face
and choked her. The victim later called her parents and reported the incident
to police.
Man cornered for theft
BUCAY, Abra – Police
recently arrested a certain
Darwin
Alagao Parado, 20 here of Barangay Palaquio, Bucay for theft. A police report
said a judge set bail of P16,000 for his temporary liberty.
30 held for illegal quarry in Pampanga
PORAC,
Pampanga -- At least 30 persons, including three Chinese citizens, have been
arrested for illegal quarry operations in Porac, Pampanga, according to the
National Bureau of Investigation.
Personnel of the NBI,
Mines and Geosciences Bureau and Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources
swooped down on two quarry sites in Barangay Manuali on Wednesday after
indigenous communities complained on the operations of Clarete’s and Tag
Mineral Resources Inc. in their ancestral domain.
The raiding team seized
heavy equipment, machineries, tools and minerals amounting to P1 billion, NBI
Director Dante Gierran said.
