SAN FERNANDO CITY, La
Union – – Pangasinan is one big push away from reaching robust economic growth,
as long as it has “the leadership that could provide it a new vision for the
future,” according to Mark de Guzman Lambino.
The
36-year-old Lambino, a candidate for vice governor in the province, said he is
looking at innovative new technology to make Pangasinan “a smart province and a
more inclusive growth and development center” for Northern Luzon.
“New
infrastructure and ecozones will provide a way to the future of the province,”
said Lambino.
Lambino is
eyeing the construction of a Pangasinan-Nueva Ecija Expressway from Bolinao,
Pangasinan, to San Jose City, Nueva City.
Also high in
his wish list is an international airport in Alaminos that could perk up
commercial and tourism-oriented businesses in Northern Luzon.
Lambino, who
is engaged in consultancy services, trading and information technology, says
that projects that provide livelihood and generate jobs for Pangasinan’s youth
are among his priorities.
He said he
will link up with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and other
government agencies in building industrial parks in San Fabian, San Nicolas,
and the Sual Industrial and Technology Park.
He is the son
of Secretary Raul L. Lambino, CEZA administrator and CEO and concurrent presidential
adviser for Northern Luzon, and the former Marylin De Guzman.
