Kagawad nabbed for indiscriminate firing

VILLASIS, Pangasinan – A barangay councilor (kagawad) here was immediately arrested by police for illegal discharge of firearm on Christmas day in Barangay Piaz.

The Pangasinan provincial police identified arrested suspect as Roy M.Elevazo, resident of Barangay Piaz.

Police investigators said Elevazo opened fire at the residence of a constituent at around 1:20 a.m. for still unknown reasons.

Responding police officers recovered 14 fired cartridge cases from a .9 mm pistol.

Charges will be filed against Elevazo, who, together with the recovered pieces of evidence are under police custody.
