Woman goes mad; mauls b’gay execs

CAMP QUIRINO, Ilocos Sur- A 48-year-old woman went berserk, mauled and
bit barangay officials the other who tried to arrest her in barangay Padu
Grande, Sto Domingo town.
Police report reaching PNP headquarters here showed
the suspect identified as Virginia Castro, 48 of Padu Grande, was creating
trouble for unknown reason in their barangay prompting her neighbors to call
for help.
Padu Grande barangay officials Mark Joseph Tabios, Armando Tabios and
Georgette Binan, responded and tried to arrest the suspect.
But the suspect resisted, boxed Tabios hitting him in
his left chin.
The two other officers tried to pacify the suspect but
she bit them in the hands.
The woman then uttered defamatory words to barangay
officials, saying "wala kang silbing kagawad."
As the three were no match to the woman, they called up reinforcement
from the PNP station, until policemen arrived and subdued her.
Responding police brought the suspect and barangay
officials to Magsingal District Hospital, for medico legal examination and
subsequently brought the suspect to Sto Domingo police station for
investigation.
The woman is facing cases for physical injuries and direct assault upon
persons in authority.
