The Chinese zodiac says
2019 is the Year of the Earth Pig which starts on the Spring Festival on Feb.
5, 2019 down to Jan. 24, 2020. Veering away from what the Chinese Feng Shui
experts say, I can just look at the pig that wants to cool off by wallowing in
a muddy pool, hence the title of this piece.
The pig digs
the earth with its strong snout, but it possesses other good characteristics.
Well for the resourceful, the pig is well behaved, keeps on eating and
sleeping, becomes very fat and ready for the market, and therefore brings
finances.
In short, its
laziness and dirtiness which are negative traits are very positive features for
the pig’s master.
At the Baguio
Filipino-Chinese Community fellowship with the media at Peter Ng’s Supreme
Hotel last week, Feng Shui experts tried to answer and dodge questions from
members of the print and broadcast outfits.
I noticed
that night that members of the press were no longer asking “million dollar
questions” that relatively made the question and answer portion of the evening
dull. But I thank the hosts, the monotony was subdued under several servings of
Chinese cooking.
Honestly, I
also wanted to hear from the Feng Shui consultants the Jueteng numbers
I can bet on. Since they are Feng Shui experts, maybe they can advise us when
to play in the casino.
Since we are
in an election year, I wanted to find out from the Feng Shui experts if
opposition political candidates could win the elections against a popular
administration.
But nobody
asked these questions. Just like me, it looked like everyone was focused on the
sweet and sour pork, salad and desserts.
Back to the
pig, I imagine that it is warm-hearted because of its fat. It should also be a
gentle and good-tempered animal, avoids stress because it cannot afford to
suffer heart attacks.
Of course,
the pig year is not smooth-sailing all the time. There will always be conflicts
in the life of the pig, and people under any Chinese zodiac sign will always
encounter ups and downs.
People, just
like pigs, are taken cared of before they are sacrificed. That is my personal
view. This means that people born within pig years have to be cautious. That is
why a pig is so sensitive that it grunts when it senses people around.
Pigs like to
be splashed with water. So for people born under the pig sign, they should take
more baths. By the way, Feng Shui experts say that flowing water is good for
business.
Whether you
are a pig or a person, dipping in a pool of water relaxes the body and mind,
and does not only wash clean a muddy life. But most of all, no matter how muddy
life is, always look for the positive side.
