3 ‘pushers’ nabbed in Kalinga buy-bust

TABUK CITY, Kalinga -- Police arrested three drug pushers in a buy-bust operation here Tuesday morning.  
Joint police operatives of the Regional Intelligence Division, Regional Intelligence Unit 14 and Tabuk City arrested Annabel Estrada 40, Marlon Olimos, 32 and Jackielou Macabenta, all residents of Paliparan 3, Daz Mariñas, Cavite for selling two plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be 10 grams of shabu during a buy-bust operation at Purok 7, Bulanao.
Another 55 grams of shabuwere discovered when police searched the suspects.
Also confiscated from the suspects were cellphones used for their transaction and P2,200 buy-bust money.

2 men die in Isabela, Cagayan road crashes

TUGUEGARAO CITY — Two persons died in separate vehicular accidents in Cagayan and Isabela on Feb. 1.
Ronald Rosario, 54, was traveling in Quezon town, Isabela when his motorcycle collided with a van at around 11 p.m.
Rosario was declared dead on arrival at the Quezon Community Hospital.
Van driver Paul Madella was taken to the police station for questioning.
Meanwhile, in Cagayan, Alexander Gacias, 57, was declared dead on arrival in a hospital following a smashup in Piat town.
Reports said that Gacias’ was traveling in Barangay Maguiling when his motorcycle rear-ended a tricycle driven by Segundo Ramos Jr.
Ramos lost control of the tricycle, causing it to hit a motorcycle driven by Marvin Agamata. – Raymund Catindig

2 men nabbed for rape in Abra

VILLAVICIOSA, Abra – Police arrested Jedrick Ocawe Gona and Jeiel Adaro Persona, both 20 here in separate operations for rape.
Gona was arrested  Tuesday in Barangay Apapaya, Villiviciosa after warrant was issued against him by judge Corpuz B. Alzate of RTC of Branch 2, Bangued, Abra  for attempted rape. Alzate set bail of P180,000 for Gona’s temporary liberty.
Earlier on Feb. 1, Persona was arrested along Santiago Street, Zone 4 after judge Alzate also issued warrant against him for rape and setting bail of P200,000.

Man nabbed for shabu in Tabuk

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Police arrested a Raymundo Santos Martinez here Feb. 2 for having 28 sachets containing white crystalline substances believed to be shabu. Also confiscated from his was P250.
This, after police responded to a report of a barangay official about the matter who later jailed the suspect for illegal drugs.

 P43-K marijuana uprooted in Bakun

BAKUN, Benguet – Police uprooted 214 marijuana plants valued at P42,800 here Feb. 2 at Sitio Madagem, Barangay Ampusongan. The uprooted marijuana plants were brought to Bakun police station.

Farmer arrested for lasciviousness

BAUKO, Mountain Province – A farmer was arrested by police here on Jan. 30 for acts of lasciviousness. Nabbed was Zusimo Clave Cas, 56, of Pangao, Monamon Norte after warrant was issued against him by Judge Sergio T. Angnganay of 1st Judicial Region, Branch 36, Regional Trial Court, Bontoc, Mountain Province.  The judge set bail of P80,000 for the accused’s temporary liberty.

Carabao kills farmer in Ilocos Norte

MARCOS,  Ilocos Norte  – A farmer died after he was gored by his carabao here in Barangay Escoda on Jan. 30. 
Police said Bernardo Rumbaoa, 72, had just pastured the animal when it attacked him at around 6 p.m.
Rumbaoa was declared dead on arrival at the Doña Josefa Edralin Marcos District Hospital. – Raymund Catindig

 Bizwoman’s house along Kennon Road burned

BAGUIO CITY -- A house was burned here Feb. 2 around 11:15 p.m. along Kennon Road, Camp 7 fronting police station 8. The fire started from a vacant shanty for construction workers owned by engineer Joseph Balabag and Janice Chiu and affected the adjacent house owned by Gloria C. Parrocha, single, businesswoman, 36, and resident of No. 58 Upper East Camp 7, Kennon Road.
The Baguio Fire Department responded to said incident augmented by Aquatraz Water Delivery and declared fire under control around 12:18 a.m. of Feb. 3, 2019. Cost of damages was around P500, 000. No persons injured during the incident.

Swedish national found dead in Baguio

BAGUIO CITY – A Swedish national was found dead in their residence here at No. 169 Orange Alley Lower QM Feb. 3 around 2:10 a.m. The body was later identified as that of Haakan Malm Qvist, 69.
Maria Olivia  Malm Qvist,  36, Filipino citizen, told police that around 11:30 p.m. of Feb. 2, she noticed that her husband can hardly breathe while lying on their bed so she accompanied him to take in his medicine then laid him down to rest.
After an hour, she noticed that her husband was not breathing anymore so she called for help from their companion in the house and reported the incident at the Stallion Base located at Legarda. She said her husband was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and complicated sickness which caused him to be bed-ridden. 
At around 1:45 a.m., Dr. Dandeo Halog of Emergency Medical Services Physician, declared him dead.

 Village councilman nabbed for firearm

NATIVIDAD, Pangasinan -- A barangay councilman was arrested following a search on his home that reportedly resulted in the recovery of a handgun here on Feb.1.
Geronimo Olipas, 62, of Barangay San Eugenio, reportedly yielded a .22 caliber revolver and a bullet for a .45 caliber pistol.
Probers said a joint team of the municipal police and the provincial mobile force company conducted the raid based on a warrant issued by a local court. -- – Eva Visperas

Farmer shoots himself in Pinukpuk, Kalinga

PINUKPUK, Kalinga – A farmer accidentally shot himself here Feb. 2 around 6 p.m. Police identified the victim as Rodjen Espinas, 22, resident of Barangay Magaogao.
He was brought to Kalinga Provincial Hospital, Bulanao in Tabuk City, kalinga. Dionisio Duguit, also a resident of same barangay and father in-law of the victim told police he heard a gunshot from their “kaingin” prompting him to verify. He saw the victim lying with an injury on his stomach and Cal. 22 handgun on his side that the victim allegedly accidentally fired and hit him.
The victim was rushed by his father-in-Law at the above mentioned hospital for medical attention while the firearm was allegedly left at the place of incident.

Man hunted for stabbing farmer, 62 in Mankayan

MANKAYAN, Benguet – Police are now hunting a man who stabbed a 62-year-old farmer here after both had a heated argument when the former joined them in a drinking session here at Caew, Bulalacao on Jan. 31 around 4:15 p.m.
A police report said Zaldy Duclayan of Naguilian, La Union stabbed Paterno Basinga Gilanda, married, farmer, from Caew, Bulalacao, Mankayan, Benguet around 11:30 p.m. of Jan. 30.
The victim  with his companion were having a drinking session at the residence of Santos Willy when the suspect joined them and after arguing with the victim stabbed, Gilanda several times and ran towards Sitio Manaba, Bulalacao.
The victim was rushed to Lutheran Hospital, Abatan, Buguias, Benguet wherein he was found to have been stabbed on his arm, chest, shoulder, and knee and still under observation.

Exhumation turns deadly in Kiangan, OSW stabbed

KIANGAN, Ifugao – Exhumation rites here locally called “binogwa” turned bloody here when a  certain Moses Licyayo Jr, 19, single, out of school youth was stabbed by Bartolome Bantayin Allaga Sr., 64, married, farmer.
A police report said the incident happened Jan. 31 at Barangay Pindongan when Allaga had a misunderstanding with a certain Von Von Puguon but was pacified by one of the barangay officials who advised him to go home.
Allaga returned later and played a card game called “monte” with the victim when a heated argument ensued. The suspect slapped the victim on his left face prompting the victim to get a bottle of Red Horse beer and hit the suspect’s forehead while the suspect also pulled a knife and stabbed the victim
The victim was brought to the Rural Health Unit by a concerned citizen but later referred to Panopdopan, District Hospital in Bannit, Lamut town. Due to extent of his injuries, he was later brought to Veterans Regional Hospital in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
The suspect who was under the influence of liquor was brought at Panopdopan District Hospital and later at Kiangan police station.

IT graduate nabbed for illegal drugs

BAGUIO CITY – An IT graduate was nabbed here in a buy-bust operation on Jan. 30 around 6 p.m. along General Segundo Drive Extension and Marcelo H. Del Pilar intersection, Burnham-Legarda Barangay.
Arrested was Lionel Donio Lehmann, 30, single,  of No. 53 Kitma Village, Bakakeng Central after he sold two sachets of shabu worth P6,000 to a cop who posed as buyer. Another two sachets of shabu were also seized in his possession including the buy-bust money.
Inventory of confiscated pieces of evidence were done on site in the presence of the suspects and witnessed by prosecutor Rolando Vergara and barangay chairman Teodoro Castro. 
A case for illegal drugs was filed against the suspect. 

Couple nabbed for drugs in buy-bust operation

BAGUIO CITY -- A businessman was nabbed in a buy-bust operation here Jan. 30 around 1:35 p.m, here along M. Roxas Street, Purok 1, Imelda Village for illegal drugs by police and narcotics agents.
Arrested was Spencer Monzon Cabuco, 45 of No. 123 Saint Patrick Subdivision, Upper Irisan.
A police report said he sold two sachets of shabu worth P6,000 to an undercover cop.
The suspect’s wife Aileen Perales Cabuco, 39 was also arrested. Another six sachets of shabu were seized in possession of Spencer including  P6,000 buy-bust money.
Inventory of confiscated pieces of evidence were done on site in the presence of the suspects and witnessed by prosecutor Rolando Vergara and barangay Kagawad Santos F. Casuga.
The couple was and drug evidence was brought to Regional Crime Laboratory Office-Cordillera for tests. Casess for illegal drugs were filed against the suspects.

Rape, lasciviousness lands man in Tabuk jail 

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A man was arrested here at Barangay Nambaran Jan. 30 for rape and acts of lasciviousness.   Nabbed was Rolando Baitog Yag-ao, 42, married of Barangay Tulgao, Tinglayan town.
Bail was denied for the rape charge while the amount of P120,000 bail was set for lasciviousness.
Warrant for his arrest was issued by judge Marcelino K Wacas of RTC, 2nd Judicial Region, Branch 25, Bulanao, Tabuk City.

2 farmers nabbed in Solana for murder 

SOLANA, Cagayan – Two farmers were arrested in their residences here Jan. 30 for murder. Nabbed were Rolando Montero Parungao, 48, married, of Barangay Palao and Ruel Lorenzo Bernardo, 28, married, of Barangay Nabbotuan. This, after arrest warrants were issued against them with bail denied by Judge Nicanor S Pascual Jr. of RTC Branch 25, Second Judicial Region, Hall of Justice, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

Man nabbed for illegal guns, bullets in Tabuk

TABUK CITY—A certain Brenhol Basungit Lasang, 23, married, and a resident of Amlao, Mabato here was arrested Monday for illegal guns and firearms.
This, after warrant was issued against him by judge Nicanor S. Pascual Jr. of Regional Trial Court, 2nd Judicial Region, Branch 25, Bulanao, Tabuk City. The judge set bail of P100,000 for Lasang’s temporary liberty.
