Six ‘drug pushers’ arrested
in Kalinga
TINGLAYAN, Kalinga --
Six alleged drug pushers were arrested in a buy-bust operation here in Barangay
Buscalan night of Feb. 9, following arrest of three drug pushers earlier.
Joint
personnel of Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, Tabuk City Police Station,
Regional Maneuver Force Battalion
Kalinga Maneuver Force Company, and Intelligence personnel of Kalinga
PPO conducted buy-bust operation and arrested Roland Delos Santos Angala, 37; Nolido Magdali Lachica alyas Jake; Ace Reyes Tengco, both 20; Sandy
Fecie Rosales, 25, and two minors, all residents of Bacoor, Cavite.
During the
operation, the operatives confiscated one sachet of marijuana hashish,
three sachets of dried marijuana leaves and stalks, shabu weighing 14 grams,
P2,000 buy-bust money, marijuana electronic weighing scale and drug
paraphernalia.
The suspects
and confiscated items are now under custody of Tinglayan police. A case
for illegal drugs was filed against them.
Rape suspect nabbed in Ilocos Sur
CAMP
OSCAR FLORENDO, La Union – A suspect wanted in a rape case four years ago
was nabbed in Sitio Turod, Barangay Tablac, in Candon City, Ilocos Sur last
Feb. 9.
Supt. Mary Crystal B.
Peralta, Police Regional Office 1 spokesperson, identified the suspect as
Reginald Caberto Catorna, 31, a resident of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur.
Peralta stated that
Catorna was also listed number 9 in the list of Most Wanted Persons in Ilocos
Sur, and number 2 in the list of the Narvacan Police Station.
Based
on reports, an arresting team composed of police operatives from the Ilocos Sur
provincial, Candon City police station, and regional and Air Force intelligence
agents implemented a warrant of arrest for rape issued by Judge Marita Bernales
Balloquing of the Narvacan Regional Trial Court last September 23, 2016.
The suspect is now at

nabbed for illegal lumber in Bontoc
BONTOC, Mountain
Province – Police arrested four individuals for transporting illegally
sawn pine lumber and confiscated the contraband last week.
Operatives of
Bontoc Municipal Police Station arrested Barny Lapaan Fang-asan, 25, driver of a Ford Fiera with plate
number ACS 768, and his passengers Agustin Madkil Arukod, 35, Daniel Madkil Arukod, 41, Marvin Pachao Padnga-a, 28, all laborers and natives here of
Barangay Dalican.
Said
individuals were nabbed in a checkpoint after they were flagged down along the
Poblacion night of Feb. 10.
The
vehicle was loaded with illegally sawn lumber and the occupants failed to show
documents which led to their arrest.
Pickpocket robs tourist of cellphone
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A
tourist was robbed of her expensive cell phone here last week by a pickpocket along
km 5, Barangay Pico. Police named the victim as Jinelle Pena Andaya, 21,
single, who was billeted at Barangay Betag.
The victim
with her Korean friend were beside the Benguet General Hospital exit where a
fishball vendor was posted and bought food. While waiting it to be cooked, a
male person wearing black jacket and blue denim pants bumped the victim while
approaching the food stall and also ordered food which the victim did not mind.
After the
food was cooked they walked heading towards Betag when she noticed that her
black VIVO 9 pearl cellphone worth P15,499 that she placed inside her jacket
front side pocket was missing. The victim tried to locate the pickpocket but he
could not be found.

Man locked in jail for concubinage
LAMUT, Ifugao – A man
was arrested here Tuesday for concubinage. Nabbed at Barangay Payawan was Jos
Dunuan Bulayungan after presiding judge Modesto D Bahul, Jr. of MCTC, Lamut
issued warrant against him and setting bail of P30,000 for his temporary
liberty.
Laborer hunted for stealing P20-K
BUGUIAS, Benguet – Cops
are now hunting the nephew of a store owner here who allegedly robbed her aunt
of P20,000.
A police
report identified the suspect as Sharton Galian Colas, 25, single, laborer and
also a resident of Blesse Store located at Barangay Loo where the incident
happened.
The theft
allegedly happened Tuesday based on complaint of Jane Peligman Fernandez, 62,
married, store keeper.
Investigation disclosed
the complainant left her store and went to the house of her neighbor but when
she returned, she was surprised to see her nephew hiding at the corner of her
house.
She
confronted her nephew but the suspect left and fled to unknown direction. The
complainant later discovered that her coin purse containing cash amounting to
P20,000 she kept at the counter was missing. She went out to look for her
nephew but could not find him prompting her to lodge a complaint against him at
the police station,
Bontoc cops nab man in Bulacan for drugs
BOCAUE, Bulacan -- Cops
from Bontoc, Mountain Province and Bulacan arrested Tuesday here a man wanted
for illegal drugs in the capital town of Bontoc.
A police
report said Emerson Cuevas Fornis was nabbed at Saint Paul College Bocaue,
Barangay Igolot, Bocaue, Bulacan. This, after warrant was issued against him by
Judge Sergio T. Angnganay Jr. of Branch 35, Bontoc RTC.
Man arrested in Sablan for adultery
SABLAN, Benguet – A
certain Richard R. Paed was arrested by police here Tuesday for adultery. This,
after judge Leody M. Opolinto of MTC, Baguio City issued warrant against him
and setting bail of P12,000 for his temporary liberty.
P240-K bail set for man in drug cases
BANGUED, Abra – Police nabbed
here Tuesday a man for illegal drugs. Arrested was Dante Viado “Dalmas” Buenafe
after Corpus B. Alzate, presiding judge of First Judicial Region, RTC,
Branch 2, Bangued, Abra issued warrant against him. The judge set bail of
P200,000 for one case and P40,000 for another for his temporary liberty.
Cops take abandoned lumber in Paracelis
PARACELIS, Mountain
Province -- Some 33 pieces of abandoned assorted lumber were
confiscated by members of the 3rd Provincial Maneuver Force
Company, provincial police and members of the CENRO here afternoon of Feb. 9
Ten
pieces of Guijo lumber were confiscated in Sitio Baay, Barangay Bacarri while
23 pieces of “Binuang” lumber was also confiscated in Sitio Katubangan, Palitod.
Said
lumber had a total volume of 521.66 board feet with an estimated market value
of P14,835.82.
Back hoe burned in Tinoc, arsonist unknown
TINOC, Ifugao – Cops are
still looking for persons who burned a back hoe here Feb. 10 around 7 p.m.
Barangay kagawadNonoy Bongtiwen reported to police the incident happened at Balococ,
Tulludan, saying the heavy machinery was owned by Mario Duguis Polonio, 57,
of Sitio Piwak, Tulludan, Tinoc.
Polonio told
police the back hoe was parked along the road sometime in 2017 because the
travel motor was stolen. He said he had not received any demand or threat from
any person in the locality.
A gallon of diesel
fuel was found in the area.
Sagada folks mum on identity of tree-cutter
SAGADA, Mountain
Province – Residents of Barangay Kilong here insisted they did not know the
culprit who cut two large mature trees here on Monday. It was around 4 p.m.
that police received a text message saying somebody was cutting trees at Sitio
Anani, Kilong.
Residents said
they only heard sound of chainsaw the previous day saying they did not know
identity of the suspects.
Cops confiscated
the abandoned seven pieces of sawn lumber worth P1,749. Said pine lumber were
brought to Sagada police station and endorsed to the Environment office.
Married
Tuba woman nabbed for adultery
TUBA, Benguet – Cops
arrested here Monday at Lasilas, Nangalisan a housewife for adultery. Nabbed
was Mary Jane Valdez Labbot,
39, married. This after Leody M. Opolinto presiding judge of MTCC,
Branch 3, Baguio City issued warrant against her setting bail of P12, 000
for her temporary liberty.
House burned in Kabayan
KABAYAN, Benguet – A
residential house was burned here Monday around 8 p.m. at Sitio Guay,
Poblacion, Kabayan, Benguet. Investigation disclosed that the single story
house owned by Biskilan Costina Gensoy, 72, single, farmer, was made of
galvanized iron and pine wood. The fire was declared out by firemen an hour
later. No one was hurt during the incident.
