SSS: Fix contact details for payments

>> Tuesday, February 5, 2019

The Social Security System (SSS) urged individually-paying members, including self-employed, voluntary members, non-working spouses, and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), to provide and update their contact information with SSS to receive their Payment Reference Number (PRN) via text message.
The Real-Time Processing of Contributions (RTPC) program, which requires the generation of PRN before paying, instantly validates, transmits and acknowledges contribution payment with the member's record in SSS.
Upon payment of their contribution using PRN, members will receive notifications via SMS that their contributions have been posted.
“We strongly urge our members who are not yet registered in the My.SSS facility so they could generate their PRN online, to provide SSS their contact information for the issuance of PRNs via SMS. This way, they will be able to pay their monthly contributions and avoid delays in the processing of their benefit claims and other services,” SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel F. Dooc said.
“There are three ways to update their contact information. One is over-the-counter in any of the SSS branches nationwide. Two, through My.SSS account in our website. Three, thru the SSS Mobile Application. We call on our members to also register in the My.SSS facility inthe SSS website (www.sss.gov.ph) and SSS Mobile Application, so they could generate their PRN on their own,” Dooc added.
Earlier, the pension fund announced that members can pay their contributions without PRN as a response to the clamor of members who have difficulty accessing the Internet. But this is only limited to those who have not yet received any PRN before.
Upon payment without PRN, SSS will request members to update their contact information in the database. The member will then receive their PRN via SMS for their next payment of contributions.
There are 83,606 pensioners, 124,583 OFWs, 563,219 voluntary members, 7,005 household helpers, 4.13 million employed members, 225,057 self-employed, and 7,141 non-working spouses who are registered in the SSS Website and with registered email addresses.
Members can visit the nearest SSS branch to update their contact information by accomplishing the Member Data Change Request Form (SSS Form E-4), or the Member Information portion of the Payment Slip.
To update the member's contact information online, a member needs to click the “Try My.SSS Beta” found in the SSS Website’s homepage; log in using his/her My.SSS account; click the “My Information” then the “Update Information;” check the box that they want to update; click “Next” then “Update” and save or print the Online Data Change Request form in PDF.
The members can also update their contact information through SSS Mobile Application, log in using their My.SSS account credential; click My Information; click Update Information; click Contact Details and choose Mobile Number and submit.
The SSS again reminds members that PRN can be generated in four ways: thru their My.SSS online account in the SSS website; SSS Mobile Application; thru the PRN inquiry facility of the collection partners of SSS; or through any SSS branch nationwide.
