BAGUIO
CITY -- The Dept. of Health-Cordillera urged the public to be cautious this dry
season due to rising cases of water-born diseases including dengue.
Geeny Austria Nurse V of
DOH CAR said such diseases are prominent during summer due to lack of water and
extreme heat.
She advised the public
to cover food containers and keep them in chilled or cool areas because with
rising temperature, it will be easy for food to rot.
She added it`s also
important to cover water containers and throw away dirty stagnant waters to
prevent mosquitos from nesting.
The DOH-CAR also warned
the public to watch out for dengue-carrying mosquitos and keep their areas
clean and participate in ABaKaDa or Aksiyon Barangay Kontra Dengue, an
intensified campaign and community-based approach to control dengue carrying
mosquitos.
