Jeep falls Tuba ravine; one dead, nine injured

TUBA, Benguet – Nine persons were injured while one died when a passenger jeep fell down a ravine here March 14 around 3 p.m. at Sitio Saguitlang, Ansagan.

The vehicle was driven by Edgardo Cassama, 37 and resident of Saguitlang.

Investigation showed the vehicle was descending a curve when lost its brake prompting the driver to bump it onto a boulder but it fell down the cliff.

Passenger Willy Malogat died on the spot, while the driver and other passengers were injured and brought to a hospital in Pozzurobio, Pangasinan for treatment.

Injured were Jerome Gavin Guron, 16; Adriane Aklis Atiwen, 15; Sinbad Manogat Burgos, 13; Mylene Caboda Laconsay, 42 and Maricel Malogat, 34.

Three passengers who were seriously injured were brought to Baguio General Hospital: Clyde Brexler Panelo Tino, 12; Alicia Estepa Daping, 53 and Gloria Panelo Tino, 47.

The cadaver of Willy Malogat was brought by his relatives to their residence at Saguitlang.
