Proj to bring water to Bontoc; mayor cites achievements

BONTOC, Mountain Province – Third - termer Bontoc Mayor Franklin Odsey cited finished and ongoing projects under his administration like bringing sufficient potable water supply to this capital town. 
This, as he urged cooperation and collaboration of stakeholders in the implementation and attainment of all undertakings of the municipal government.
During the oath taking of the newly elected municipal officials on June 28, at the Bontoc municipal capitol, Odsey cited major accomplishments of the present town administration which he credited to support of the public and stakeholders.
These included construction of the Bontoc municipal capitol and waste management facility at Am-ancho, Bontoc Ili and the municipality as a national awardee of the Seal of Good Local Governance for two consecutive years in 2017 and 2018, respectively. 
“These many accomplishments were made possible because of your trust. I appeal again for your continuous support; to pursue with vigor our new and unfinished projects,” the mayor remarked. 
One of the unfinished projects which he vouched to be completed before his term ends was distribution of sufficient and safe potable supply of water to four central barangays of Bontoc.
This, with the ongoing project on the installation of a potable water system in Gakhan Creek/ spring in Barangay Talubin going directly to the water reservoir in Pagturao, Poblacion and to be distributed to households, commercial buildings, and institutions in Barangays Bontoc Ili, Poblacion, Caluttit and Samoki.
The Gakhan Creek water source can be reached by four to five hours trek from the road going up the mountain. 
Odsey said this major project along with the other programs and undertakings of the municipal government will come into fruition with the cooperation of everyone. 
“I call on the cooperation of everyone to join me in attaining our mission for a better Bontoc. This includes the elected and appointed officials, and the rank and file employees of the municipal government. Be therefore unselfish in your cooperation, so much so that each of us has God-given talent to share,” he added. 
Joined by his family, Odsey thanked the electorate for the trust and confidence that they have given to him as he assured good public service with dignity. 
Mainit Punong Barangay Johnson Tangchor administered the oath-taking of mayor-elect Odsey.
Odsey administered the oath-taking of vice mayor-elect Eusebio Kabluyen while Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) president and Bontoc Ili punong barangay Alexander Fana-ang administered the oath taking of Sangguniang Bayan members Alsannyster Patingan, Viola Okko, John Engngeg, Jerome Tudlong, Peter Kedawen, John Pelew, Robert Dacyon, and Esteban Nguddo.
