11 persons nabbed in Cordillera for drugs

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- Eleven suspects allegedly engaged
in illegal drugs were arrested in the Cordillera that resulted in confiscation of marijuana and shabu the past
two weeks.
In a checkpoint
operation, Amiel Chua Mercado, 24, student and a resident of Banggut, Bambang,
Nueva Vizcaya was arrested at the national road in front of Poblacion
West, Lamut evening of Sept. 8.
Confiscated in his
possession were marijuana stalks with leaves and fruiting, three containers
containing dried marijuana stalks and five containers containing marijuana
seeds, all valued at P240,000.
In a buy-bust operation
in Baguio City, 10 individuals were separately caught after having transaction
with undercover cops who posed as buyers.
Arrested were Maricel
Soriano Soriano aka Karen, 36, online seller and boarder of Sanitary Camp,
who was arrested at Maharlika Livelihood Complex, on Sept. 11. followed by the
arrest of Limel Nico San Pedro, 32, of Maryknoll Campo
Sioco; Angielyn Castañeda Venturina,25 and Charlene Laborete
Avellanoza a.k.a Mae Valdez, 40, both residents of Lower Kitma Road.
Both were nabbed Sept. 10 at Room 209, South Terminal Inn,
Governor Pack Road.
Rizalde Abinsay Osiang,
42, graphic designer and caretaker of MOJAX Property Rentals Building was
caught Monday at the building along Lower General Luna Road.
Confiscated from Soriano
were three sachets of suspected shabu worth P6,000 and buy bust money while
three sachets of suspected shabu, marijuana and assorted drug paraphernalia
were seized from Pedro and his companions while two sachets of shabu were
seized from Osiang.
In Kalinga, three shabu
dealers identified as Reynaldo Viloria Esguerra, 54, and Lallaine
Dela Cruz Guidangen, 32, were apprehended in their homes at Jose Abad Santos
St., Laya East, Tabuk City on Sept. 7, 2019 while Jeston Talay
Gayawet was arrested at Purok 4, Bulanao on Sept. 5.
Evidence
confiscated from Esguerra and Guidangen were suspected shabu and two bullets
for Cal. 45 while two sachets containing suspected shabu, P1,000 buy bust
money and drug paraphernalia were seized from Gayawet.
Two more alleged drug
dealers identified as Jerico Millare Pariñas, 23 of Bangued Abra was
arrested at Rizal St. Zone 7, Bangued on Sept. 5 while Arnold Novida
Ynzon, 40 helper and a resident of Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet was
arrested at Pico, La Trinidad on Sept. 4
Confiscated from Pariñas
were three sachets containing suspected shabu, P1,000 buy bust money, two cell
phones, P1,240 cash and a Mio Yamaha motorcycle.
Two sachets containing
suspected shabu; one cell phone and P1,000 buy-bust money were taken from the
possession of Ynzon.
All arrested
suspects are now under the custody of the concerned operating units while a
case for violation of RA 9165 known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Acts of
2001 was filed against them in court.
