Male cadaver found below Tuba BFP office
TUBA, Benguet – A still
unidentified man was found dead inside a small house below the office of the
Bureau of Fire Protection Wednesday around 12 noon.
BFP told
police they smelled pungent odor from the house at Kadmangan, Poblacion along
Marcos Highway. Cops went to the house and saw the male cadaver lying with a
blanket over his body.
3 sued for stealing P223-K, P194-K check in seminary
BAGUIO CITY – Charges
for theft were filed at the Prosecutor’s Office Wednesday against three persons
for allegedly stealing P223,850 cash and check worth P194,889 inside the Saint
Francis Javier Seminary here at Liteng, Pacdal around 1:30 a.m. on August 10.
Charged for
the offense were Romel Kristooper Tropia aka Christian Torralba and Jomar and
Victor both surnamed Montemayor.
Rev. Fr. Berlynden
B. Dao-anis, 41, rector of the seminary filed the complaint saying the stolen
check was under the name of SFXS.
Secu
guard wanted for rape nabbed in Conner
CONNER, Apayao --
Cordillera’s no. 9 top most wanted person wanted for rape was captured here at
Sitio Turayok, Barangay Buluan on August 21.
Nabbed was
Modesto Duriguez Talay, 53, security guard and a resident Perfecto Drive,
Bagumbayan, Taguig City, Manila. He was denied bail by a judge.
Two men nabbed for rape, robbery
BUGUIAS, Benguet – Cops
captured Benguet’s top most wanted persons on August 19.
Jason Luansin
Dela Cruz, 30, farm laborer, of Dardarat, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur was arrested in
his residence here at Cada, Upper Cotcot, Bangao.
This,
while Sherwin Galingon Bilog Aka Bayawe was captured at km 3, Pico,
La Trinidad town.
Dela Cruz was
charged for rape with no bail recommended while Bilog, accused of robbery had
bail of P36,000 for his temporary
liberty.
Bilog was allegedly a
member of Acetylene Gang operating nationwide under the "Gipson Beligen
Group" a.k.a “Sagandoy Acetylene Group”.
Paracelis school building razed
PARACELIS, Mountain
Province – A building of the Technical and Vocational High School (PTVHS) here
at Labay, Bantay, was burned August 24 starting around 10 a.m. Police and fire
personnel inlcluding volunteers responded to the fire at building of said school
composed of five rooms.
Japanese, 70 dies on way to Baguio hospital
BAGUIO CITY – A
70-year-old Japanese national died while being taken to the Pines City Doctor’s
Hsopital here August 25 around 4 a.m.
The victim
was identified as Mikie Yoshiyuki, resident of no. 176 Cresencia Village.
He was rushed
by his companion Akihiro Matsuda, also a Japanese national and a certain Sammy
Soledad Mesina to PDH but was declared dead on arrival by his attending
physician.
The victim’s
roommate Leslie Unlas Cunanan, said the victim was having chills and difficulty
in breathing after taking a bath which prompted them to rush the victim to the
hospital.
His
companions said he had heart failure. The cadaver still remains at the said
hospital awaiting arrival of Japanese Embassy personnel.
Baguio jail officer’s vehicle carnapped
BAGUIO CITY – A jail
officer’s vehicle was carnapped here August 24 by still unidentified persons.
BJMP officer Roderick D. Escat, 38 said he parked his Mitsubishi Adventure with
license plate no. CRZ 653 around 5 p.m. that day at the side of the road
near his residence at Tenerace, San Vicente and went home.
In the
morning of August 25, when he was about to drive his car, he discovered vehicle
was missing. The complainant tried to locate his car but to no avail. The
missing vehicle was put on alarm and reported to the Regional Highway Patrol
Unit.
Wanted man captured in Buguias for rape
BUGUIAS, Benguet – A
certain Reinier B. Toda wanted for rape was arrested here August 25 around 9:40
a.m. at Guioeng, Amlimay.
Police
implemented warrant issued against Toda by Daniel D. Mangalay, Judge of RTC,
Branch 64, Buguias for rape with bail denied.
Man wanted for rape in Baguio nabbed in Agoo
AGOO, La Union – A man
wanted for rape was traced and arrested by Baguio City and La Union police here
around 8:25 a.m. Mondayin Barangay Consolacion.
Nabbed was
Jervin Enriquez Galano after Judge Ivan Kim B. Morales of RTC Branch 59, Baguio
issued warrant against him with no bail recommended.
Judge
sets 120-K bail for Tabuk rob suspect
TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A
certain Gilbert Baligod Ayabo Jr. was arrested here Monday at Barangay
Agbannawag for robbery.

warrant was issued by Judge Jerson E
Angog of RTC, Branch 25, Bulanao, Tabuk City against the suspect. Bail of
P120,000 was set by the judge for Ayabo’s temporary liberty.
Laborer arrested for murder in Luna
LUNA, Apayao – A certain
Rex Purieng Bidoc, 33, laborer, was arrested here August 23 at Barangay San
Francisco for murder.
No bail was
set for his temporary liberty.
Rape lands man in jail
TAGKAWAYAN, Quezon – A
farmer named Ronel Pintang Guerero, 38, was arrested here August 21 for rape.
The judge set no bail for the accused who was incarcerated at the local jail.
Abra man wanted for rape nabbed in Bacolor
BACOLOR, Pampanga --
Abra’s n o. 8 op most wanted person identified as Jay-El Gubatay
Belisario, 28, of Luba, Abra was arrested in his residence here in Barangay
Cabalantian, Bacolor August 20, for rape.
No bail was recommended
for his temporary liberty.

said barangay August 23 for homicide.

Suit filed vs auto shop worker for turbo theft
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A
complaint for theft was filed against an auto shop worker here for allegedly
stealing a vehicle turbo booster here on August 23.
Jerry Dicang
Tomas, 49, here of DA 79, Upper Tomay, Bahong, filed a case for theft against
his employee Mario Natividad Rodriguez, 39, of Moriones, Tondo, Metro Manila
and presently residing at same address.
Tomas, who
owns “PJT’s Auto Supply located at Tomay, Bahong, said around 6:30 p.m. that day,
Rodriguez brought out two pieces of 14 JB1 turbo worth P28, 000 by concealing
it inside a sack then returned to the shop with an empty bag.
The
complainant confronted the suspect who admitted he sold said turbo. A case for
theft was set for filing at the Benguet Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
Man
nabbed for 2 bullets, 3 mags
LAGANGILANG, Abra –
Police raided the house of a certain Giovanni Lorenzo Mendoza here August 23
that resulted to his arrest for having in his possession illegal ammunition.
Confiscated
from the suspect were three gun magazines for Cal. 45 and a bullet each for
Cal. 45 and Cal. 9 mm handguns.

against Mendoza.

wanted for homicide was arrested here August 23. Nabbed was Reymar Dulnuan
Lay-O after Judge Romeo U. Habbiling of RTC, Branch 14, Lagawe, Ifugao issued
warrant against him while setting bail of P120,000 for his temporary liberty.
Man
held for murder in Luna
LUNA, Apayao – A man
wanted for murder was arrested by police here August 23.
Cops nabbed
Rex Purieng Bidoc by virtue of warrant issued by Judge Victor R. Cumigad of
RTC, Branch 26, Luna with no bail recommended.
Bidoc was arrested
at Barangay San Francisco and incarcerated at the municipal jail.
Lasciviousness lands man in Dolores jail
DOLORES, Abra – Police
arrested a certain Benedicto O. Bersola here August 23 after warrant was issued
against him by Judge Richard T. Domingo of RTC, Branch 2, Bangued for acts of
lasciviousness.
The judge set
bail of P80,000 for the suspect’s temporary liberty after his arrest at Barangay. Libtec. Bersola was held at the
town jail.
Woman
held for child abuse
ASIPULO, Ifugao – A
woman was arrested here August 23 for child abuse at Sitio Maloy, Cawayan.
Nabbed for violation of Republic Act 7610 was Marites Bayuya Domingo by virtue
of warrant issued against her by Judge Romeo Habbiling of RTC Branch 14 Lagawe
who set bail of P80,000 for her temporary liberty.
Trinidad wanted man arrested in Kabugao
KABUGAO, Apayao – A
certain Donald Cadao Dawanan aka Ian Saludo Ventura/Dondon was arrested here
August 23 at barangay Poblacion for violation of Presidential Decree 705
(forestry law).
Arrest
warrant was earlier issued against the suspect by Judge Jorges Manaois Jr. of
RTC, Branch 10, La Trinidad, Benguet.

men cornered for illegal guns, bullets
DOLORES, Abra – Three
men were arrested here at Barangay Talogtog by police August 21 for illegal
guns and bullets. Nabbed were Ruben R. Ariota, Romar S. Reyes and Juliemar B.
Ariota after Judge Marvin Jovito S. Samadan of RTC Branch 70, Burgos,
Pangasinan issued warrant against them.
Seized from
the suspects were a Cal. 45 pistol, Gold Cup National Match gun, two magazines
for Cal. 45 and several bullets for Cal. 45.
P70-K marijuana burned in Kibungan
KIBUNGAN, Benguet –
Police found and burned around P70,000 worth of marijuana plants here August 21
at Lawlawitan, Palina.
The illegal
plants were found on a 70 sq.m. lot, police said.
Man cornered in Abatan bar buy-bust
BUGUIAS, Benguet – A man
was arrested in a buy-bust operation here August 21 around 12:30 p.m. at
Polpol’s Videoke Bar, Turo-turo, Yap Compound.
Nabbed was
Elmo Donato Dosalin. Confiscated from suspect were five sachets containing
white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu valued at P11, 500.
A P1,000 bill
and Myphone cell phone were also confiscated from the suspect.
Biker dies in Cagayan
mishap
ALCALA, Cagayan -- A 38-year-old man died
after his motorcycle slammed into a waiting shed here on August 17.
Melvin Sadron was on his way home from a
drinking spree when he figured in the accident at around 7 p.m. in Barangay
Tupang.
Sadron was
declared dead on arrival at the Alcala Municipal Hospital.
Meanwhile, Raymundo Paleg, 62, was
driving a tricycle with his grandson on board when they were hit by an
ambulance in Barangay Caggay in this city at around 12:15 p.m.
M/Sgt. Randel
Lamud said the ambulance, driven by Delfin Cajucom, 26, was responding to an
emergency call.
Paleg and his
grandson were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries.
Cajucom was
taken to the police station for questioning.
Nueva Vizcaya public school razed

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya -- Three school
buildings were destroyed in a fire that hit a public elementary school in
Kasibu town in this province night of August 17.
The blaze,
which started at past 5 p.m., quickly spread to the buildings of the
Kakidduguen Elementary School in Sitio Panuypoy, Barangay Kakidduguen.
Marlon Butay,
officer-in-charge of the Kasibu West School District, said the fire destroyed
classrooms being used by Grades 1 to 6 pupils.
Butay said
classes were suspended until Wednesday as school administrators and employees
built temporary classrooms and set up tents.
“We will also
ask the help of the barangay officials. We will ask them to allow us to use the
barangay hall and the gym to serve as temporary classrooms for the children,”
Butay said.
Church leader Jonathan Bunuan of Kasibu
appealed for help from individuals, organizations and the government to help
them rebuild the school.
Local fire
officials have yet to determine the cause of the blaze and the amount of
damage.
