CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga -- The Philhealth here is reaching
out to geographically isolated and depressed areas to enroll those listed under
the National Household Targeting System (NHTS) left out during previous membership
application and processing. Under Philhealth “Alaga Ka” program, GIDA barangays
particularly those with low enrolment are the priority targets including the
mandatory registration of senior citizens as provided under Republic Act 10645
and those turning 21 years old dependents.
Dariel Buslig, Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) information officer
here, said 23 members from Poblacion and 16 from Anggacan Sur, both of Tanudan,
were enrolled during their latest “Alaga Ka” field visit.
He said they have
already visited eight GIDA barangays and served a total of 899 participants
during their “Alaga Ka” sorties. Part of “Alaga Ka” in GIDA areas is the
conduct of information, education, communication on membership and benefits of
the national health insurance program and distribution of membership data
records.
Rommel Aranca, LHIO
head, informed that they will also conduct the annual “Ronda Probinsiya”
on September 24-25 in the form of a forum with health care institutes and
employers forum on electronic Philhealth Remittance System in the first week of
October.
He said the forum in partnership with regional Philhealth personnel will also tackle on policy update, issues and concerns to further improve the implementation of the universal health care law. (JDP/PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
