Top Cordillera cops, stations cited Albayalde: Cleansing PNP ranks one of major thrusts

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet — Philippine
National Police Director General Oscar David Albayalde said here cleansing the
PNP ranks remains among his major thrusts along with relentless war on crime,
illegal drugs and corruption, and the enhancement of community engagements.
Albayalde bared this as
he graced celebration of Police Regional Office Cordillera of the 118th police
service anniversary themed “Pinaghusay na Serbisyo, Alay sa Sambayanang
Pilipino” Friday here at the regional police headquarters in Camp Dangwa.
The PNP chief and party were warmly welcomed with a native
dance rendered by the PROCOR Dance Troupe followed by arrival honors.
The activity was
highlighted by presentation of awards and decorations to deserving PNP units
and personnel for their outstanding achievements and performances in the police
service.
The awarding was
spearheaded by the CPNP, assisted by the PROCOR Command group led by the
Regional Director Brig. Gen. Israel Ephraim T Dickson.
Awardees for the
individual administrative category were: Col. Allen Rae Co, Baguio City police
directorwho received the Medalya ng Kasanayan and Achievement Award as Best
Senior Police Commissioned Officer, Lt. Col. Jefferson P. Cariaga of Apayao
provincial policwe office as Best Junior PCO; PEMS Carlos M Pablo of RCD as
best senior police non-commissioned police officer and Cpl. Jafemar C Burgos of
RPSMU as best junior PNCO.
Awarded for operations
were: Col. Alfred K. Dangani, Abra police director who received Medalya ng
Kasanayan and Achievement Award for being the Best Senior Police Commissioned
Officer (PCO); Capt. Le Vonn A. Madalang of of RMFB15 as the Best Junior PCO;
Chief Master Sgt. Martin B Saguidin, Jr of Baguio CPO who was adjudged Best
Senior PNCO and SSg Julien T Lunag of Ifugao PPO as Best Junior PNCO.
In the non-supervisory
level, NUP Illuminada G Lachica, of RLRDD was awarded best non-uniformed
personnel.
For unit awardees, award
of recognition and a PNP Unit Distinction Streamer were given to the following
recipients: Benguet Police Provincial Office as Best Police Provincial Office;
Police Station 9, Baguio CPO, Best City Police Station; Best Municipal Police
Station -Daguioman MPS, Abra PPO; Best Maneuver Force Company-1502nd Maneuver
Force Coy; Best City Mobile Force Company-Baguio City Mobile Force Company;
Best National Administrative Support Unit - Regional Finance Service
Office 15 while Best National Operational Support Unit was Regional Crime
Laboratory Office.
For the Special Awards
category, the following awardees received the same awards: Apayao
PPO for recording the Lowest Crime Volume; Abra PPO, for accounting
the most number of loose firearms; Baguio CPO for achieving most
significant accomplishment on the campaign against illegal drugs; Kalinga
PPO for recording highest crime solution and crime clearance efficiencies
and Ifugao PPO for least administrative cases of personnel.
RIAS-Cor was
awarded 3rd best at the national level during the 20th Internal Affairs Service
(IAS) founding anniversary.
Mountain Province
PPO was awarded for initiating declaration of the CPP-NPA as persona non
grata in their area.
Meanwhile, seven
individuals were awarded special individual awards for their noble
and selfless love for service shown when they boldly rescued a French family
trapped along the road of Barangay Gacab, Malibcong, Abra on August 21.
Awardees were PEMS Edwin
B Gubiangan, CMS Marion A Gacayan, Cpl Larry M Puguon, Cpl Leo F Marrero
II, all of Balbalan MPS, Kalinga, and Sgt Charles D del Rosario and PFC Jay-r P
Valaquio of the 24IB, 7ID, PA.
In his message, the PNP
chief congratulated PRO-Cordillera for remarkable accomplishments this year.
“Your good work, dedication to duty and your deep commitment to the ideals of
service, honor, and justice are the best tributes you can render to our
forebears,” he said.
He also congratulated
awardees for their remarkable performance of duties.
He said efforts of police at the National
Headquarters andtregional offices have paid well especially on the attainment
of PNP’s mission and vision. “Kaya inaasahan ko na lalong magiging masigasig
ang inyong pagpapatupad ng PNP PATROL Plan 2030.
”I urge you to
continue to strongly support your PNP leadership in realizing these objectives”
he said.
The Police
Service Anniversary is a yearly celebration to commemorate the establishment of
the forerunner organization of the Philippine National Police, the Philippine
Constabulary on August 8, 1901.
