7 caught in Buguias drug session; P300k MJ uprooted

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad Benguet -- Seven alleged drug users were recently arrested in the region while around P300,000  worth of marijuana plants were confiscated and destroyed.

                 Buguias, Benguet police caught seven individuals having pot session at a shanty in Cayapas, Baculongan Sur, Buguias, Benguet night of Jan. 30.

Apprehended farmers, all of Buguias, were Amado Olsino Dolinen, 39; July Dominguez Manuel, 33, both residents of Cayapas, Baculongan Sur; Menandro Kiblasen Pa-Ay, 29; Paul Bolinto Mitas, 20, both  of Obanga, Baculongan Sur; Elvis Kiblasen Mocate, 30; Enan Buteng Batio-An, 23, both residents of Paing, Baculongan Sur; and Eldito Bateng-An Alicwadey, 32, of Pokukan, Tinoc, Ifugao and resident of Mankayan, Benguet.

Twelve sachets of suspected shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia were reportedly conficated from them.

Meanwhile, a total of P299,000 worth of fully grown marijuana plants were uprooted and destroyed in Kibungan, Benguet during a 3-day marijuana eradication operation.

Provincial Police Mobile Force and Drug Enforcement agents uprooted a total of 1,346 fully grown marijuana plants worth P149,000 in a plantation in Barangay Tacadang of the town on Jan. 27 and 28.

In Palina, Kibungan, Benguet, 2,096 fully grown marijuana plants were also uprooted by police and PDEA agents.

The illegal plants were valued at P150,000.

Two teens held in Cagayan drug sting

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan — Authorities arrested two teenagers for peddling marijuana in Barangay Bauan East, Solana, Cagayan recently.

Police said two boys, aged 15 and 14, were collared after handing two sachets of dried marijuana leaves to a police officer who posed as a buyer.

A cellular phone and P500 in marked money were allegedly recovered from the suspects. – Raymund
