CAGAYAN province
has not recorded any coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) case ever since it was
downgraded to general community quarantine (GCQ) on May 16.
This was confirmed
by Cagayan Governor Manuel N. Mamba who disclosed that no new case of COVID-19
has been added to the 17 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which was recorded before
the province was placed into GCQ.
“This is the
effect of strict implementation of the guidelines imposed by the Inter-Agency
Task Force (IATF) and the protocols set by the Department of Health,” Mamba
said.
However,
Mamba urged his constituents not to be complacent since a vaccine is yet to be
discovered.
“Kahit apat
Mamba.
As of press
time, Cagayan has recorded 690 probable cases base on the data of the
Provincial Health Office. Based on the national data, the province was among
those where no new case of COVID-19 has been recorded from May 11 to May 26.
The province
is keeping its borders on heavy guard for returning Cagayanos coming from Metro
Manila. At least 1,000 Cagayanos have already applied for ‘Balik Cagayan Border
Pass’.
