NPA guerilla arrested for Kalinga slays

BALBALAN, Kalinga -- A
New People’s Army (NPA) guerilla wanted for multiple frustrated murder and two
counts of murder was arrested here in Sitio Ubel, Barangay Gawaan Monday night.

Lunes, 54 of the NPA’s Lejo Cawilan
Command was tagged in an ambush in 2002 that left two soldiers dead, Kalinga
police director Col. Davy Limmong said.
At the
regional police headquarters in Camp Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet, Cordillera
police director Brig. Gen. R’win Pagkalinawan said the arrest was based on a warrant
issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 35 Judge Marcelino Wakas in Tabuk.
No bail was
recommended.
Pagkalinawan
said a reward of P700,000 was offered for information leading to the arrest of
Lunes.

said the suspect was captured at his hideout in Sitio Ubel, Barangay Gawaan,
Balbalan.

bared a P700,000 reward for the capture of Lunes.
The suspect
is now under the custody of the Balbalan Municipal Police Station.
