P3.2-M marijuana burned in Kalinga

TINGLAYAN, Kalinga -- Government
forces seized about 16,000 fully grown marijuana plants worth P3.2 million here
in Barangay Belong Manubal Oct. 3.
Joint operatives of the Tinglayan and Lubuagan Municipal Police Stations, led by Lt. Luis Burlap Jr., and Capt. Bede Dakiwas, respectively, in coordination with the regional Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency discovered the marijuana plantation.
The operation, which was staged around 10:20 a.m., led to the discovery of a 2,000 square-meter lot planted to marijuana.
The operatives uprooted and burned the marijuana plants on-site.
Cache of weapons found in N. Ecija

CABANATUAN CITY — Government troopers
discovered a cache of ammunition in Carranglan, Nueva Ecija on Monday.
Reports reaching the office of Col. Marvin
Joe Saro, Nueva Ecija police director, said soldiers were conducting security
operation in Sitio Tactac, Barangay Puncan when they found ammunition for
a grenade launcher, 7.62mm and 5.56mm rifles, magazines for an M16, bandoliers
and magazine pouches. The recovered items were placed under the
