BAGUIO CITY – A couple was arrested when they tried to enter this city with fake travel passes and other documents.
Baguio City police director Col. Allen Rae Co identified the couple as  Paul Francis Mallari Ong, 42, and Sheryl Paque Ong, 39, both residents of Mabalacat, Pampanga.
They were reportedly were charged with falsification of public documents and for violating Republic Act 11332, or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.
Co said the couple arrived at the quarantine checkpoint along Naguilian Road in Irisan, Baguio City around 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 29, onboard their car.
They were flagged down so their travel documents could be checked.
However, they failed to present the original copies of their travel documents, prompting the police officers to call the source of the documents for verification.
The police contacted Mabalacat City Police Station, which supposedly issued their travel pass.
But Pampanga police denied issuing the travel authority the Ong couple had.
The Jose Lingad Memorial General Hospital in Pampanga also informed Baguio police that based on their records, their names were not registered as among those issued they issued medical certificates.
Co said that when confronted by the duty officer about the documents they presented, the couple admitted that said documents were fake and forged.
Last Oct. 24, the quarantine checkpoint in Nagullan also arrested live-in partners Jean Paul Fernando Pante,35, and Jenelyn Santos Gatchalian, 35, of San Rafael, Bulacan, when they tried to enter the city with fake documents.
The couple admitted that they intentionally faked the documents they obtained in Baliuag, Bulacan, since they only had travel authority to go as far as Bacnotan, La Union when they ferried a passenger going to that place, but decided to proceed in Baguio City to visit a relative.
