Cordillera cops donate P3.4-M for Cagayan, Bicol Regions

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet -- In the
spirit of Bayanihan, aside from the human resource and logistical support
provided by the Police Regional Office Cordillera in the aftermath of Typhoon
Ulysses in Cagayan Valley, PROCor cops voluntarily contributed a portion of
their salary to aid in the rehabilitation efforts in Cagayan Valley and Bicol
Region.
A total of P3,407,875 was collected from voluntary contribution of PROCor personnel, according to Capt. Marnie D. Abellera, deputy chief of the PROCor public information office.

Abra police donated P535,910; Apayao, P157,200; Baguio City, P509,400; Benguet,
P532,500; Ifugao, P320,200; Kalinga, P405,900; Mountain Province, P283,000;
Regional Mobile Force Battalion,
P 297,500; regional
police headquarters, P249,855 and regional support units amounting to P116,410.
In a low key
ceremonial turn-over at Kalinga PPO grounds, the collected funds worth
P2,040,000 was personally handed by PROCor Regional Director Brig. Gen. R’win
SA. Pagkalinawan to Brig. Gen. Edgar DM Gacayan, DRDA of Cagayan Valley police.
Abellera said coordination is being made with to PRO 5 for turn-over of
P1,367,875 cash assistance of PROCor to the people of Bicol Region.
This is the third time
that PROCor conducted the Bayanihan Fund Challenge. Previously, P11.7 million
was accumulated for the “Kapwa Ko, Sagot Ko” Program while P4.1 million was
collected for the Sadanga Footbridge Challenge.
