Baguio cop in rape of daughter nabbed after hiding 15 years

BAGUIO CITY -- A dismissed police officer included in the list of the
Department of the Interior and Local Government's most wanted personality was
captured March 2 after 15 years hiding from the law.
Col. Allen Rae F. Co. Baguio City police director identified the suspect as Ronald Salcedo Olarte.
Co said Olarte was arrested by combined operatives of Baguio City police and Batangas police at Balintawak Road, Lipa City, Batangas.
Olarte was accused of incestuous rape docketed under criminal case 255976-R issued then by Judge Iluminada P. Cabatu of RTC Branch 59, Baguio City.
Olarte who was reportedly dropped from the roll of the Philippine National Police in February 2006 was accused of raping his daughter who was a minor on Jan. 1, of the same year in Baguio City.
Co said the suspect was listed in the DILG's top most wanted person of Cordillera Administrative Region with monetary reward of P135,000 for his capture based on DILG memorandum circular 2021-022.
Olarte is under custody of Lipa City Police Station prior as he awaits presentation to the issuing court in Baguio City.
