Bontoc TUPAD workers get wages

BONTOC, Mountain Province - Beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers (TUPAD) in this capital town received their wages during a ceremonial turnover and pay out on April 7 at the Bontoc Municipal Capitol.
In his message, Dept. of Labor and Employment (DOLE) regional director Nathaniel V. Lacambra expressed high hopes that the program eased the financial burden of the beneficiaries.
He added the government is sincere in bringing its services to the grassroots and help improve their living conditions.
DOLE Assistant regional director lawyer Sixto "Popoy" Rodriguez Jr., added the TUPAD program aims to uplift the lives of the people.
DOLE provincial head Apollo Luspian lauded TUPAD workers for their diligence while enlisted in the program and encouraged them to render the same performance on whatever work assigned to them.
Mountain Province Rep. Maximo Dalog, Jr., said the TUPAD program catering to the vulnerable and marginalized sectors is one of the government’s commitments in uplifting the lives of the communities.
Dalog assured partnership of the Office of the Congressman with the DOLE and the Bontoc government in bringing services of the government to the community.
The TUPAD program is funded by Dalog’s office in partnership with the DOLE while the implementation is through the Bontoc LGU as DOLE – accredited partner.
In response, Bontoc Mayor Franklin Odsey in his message delivered by Sangguniang Bayan member Jerome Tudlong, Jr., expressed the municipality’s gratitude to the national government through the DOLE and Dalog, Jr. for all their assistance to Bontoc.
Vice Mayor Eusebio Kabluyen thanked the DOLE and Dalog for their support in improving the living conditions of the people.
TUPAD is a community-based package assistance that provides emergency short term employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a minimum of 30 days, depending on nature of work to be performed.
