5 held in Tuba, Baguio for selling shabu to cops


CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet -- Five persons were nabbed in Tuba, Benguet and Baguio
Recently for selling shabu to cops.
    In Tuba, Benguet, police and Drug agents arrested three drug personalities in a buy-bust operation here at Tagadi, Tadiangan, on August 12.
    Police named suspects as Ricardo Ocampo Manuson a.k.a. Bryan, 43; Richie Lomibao Sison, 26 and John Derik Damoco, 26.
    The suspects were arrested when they sold suspected shabu  weighing 1.5 grams worth P10,200 to a cop.
    An additional 3.5 grams worth P23,800, drugs paraphernalia and a Cal. 38 revolver with five live ammos were also confiscated from the suspects.
    Inventory of confiscated items was witnessed at the site by kagawad Anita Madarang of Barangay Tadiangan, prosecutor Andres Gondayao and Charles Nikko Limon of RNG Luzon.
    The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of PDEA Benguet while cases for illegal drugs were prepared against the suspects.
    In Baguio City, two drug suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Ferdinand on August 13.
    Suspects were identified as Nicole Ann Cabarlo, 22 and Jayson Fangki Domingo, 32.
    Cabarlo and Domingo were arrested when they reportedly sold to a lawman who acted as poseur buyer suspected shabu weighing a gram P6,800.
    Seized from Cabarlo were the buy-bust money and cell phone used in the transaction.
Inventory at the site and witnessed by Prosecutor Sigrid Canawil, kagawad Felipe Gaerlan of Barangay Sto. Rosario  and media representative Charles Niko Limon.
    The arrested suspects were brought to the custody of Legarda Police Station where cases for illegal drugs were prepared against them.


Benguet cops, PDEA destroy P4.8-M marijuana plants

BAKUN, Benguet -- Benguet police and anti-illegal drug units destroyed P4.8 million worth of marijuana plants here on August 14.
    Joint operatives of the Bakun Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Drug Enforcement Unit Benguet, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency eradicated 6,400 marijuana plants in Sitio Dacap Kayapa.
    The weeds had a street value of P1,280,000 planted in an estimated 800-square-meter lot while 30 kilos of abandoned marijuana dried stalks valued at P3,600,000 were also discovered.
    In another raid, police and PDEA agents destroyed 750 marijuana plants worth P150,000 in nearby Kibungan town.
    No one was arrested in both anti-narcotics operations.
    "I highly commend all our personnel and also the PDEA agents involved in the success of this operation. This is part of our nationwide implementation of the Intensified Cleanliness Policy and campaign against illegal drugs", Philippine National     Police chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said in a statement on August 15.
    Although no cultivator was apprehended during the said operation, Eleazar warned all persons involved in the illegal trade that they face life imprisonment once found guilty.
    "Hindi tayo titigil sa pagsasagawa ng mga ganitong operasyon hangga't hindi natin nauubos ang mga tanim ng ipinagbabawal na halaman alinsunod sa ating ipinatutupad na programang Intensified Cleanliness Policy at paghuli sa mga patuloy na nagtatanim nito (We will not stop conducting such operations until we have eradicated the crops of the prohibited plant in accordance with our Intensified Cleanliness Policy program and arrest those who continue to plant it)," Eleazar added.
    All marijuana plants and stalks were uprooted and burned onsite.
    In Sitio, Binaod, Madaymen, Kibungan, Benguet a total of 750 marijuana plants worth P150,000.00 were destroyed planted on a forest.
 

Hashish, P150-M marijuana seized in Isabela town

GAMU, Isabela––A 28-year-old tricycle driver yielded two hashish (illegal weed) tablets and marijuana worth P151,200 during a buy-bust operation Aug. 16, in this town, authorities said.
    The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency reported that Jemart Villanueva was caught with 50 grams of hashish tablets and 10 grams of marijuana leaves.
    Also recovered from Villanueva were a loaded improvised shotgun, a motorcycle with a sidecar used in the transaction, and a mobile phone.
    The suspect was charged with illegal possession of firearms and violation of the anti-drugs law.

 
Driver crashes  van, nabbed fo 
illegal logging

LAMUT, Ifugao -- Police responded to a vehicular accident which resulted to the arrest of the driver of the ill-fated vehicle here in Barangay Panobtopan on August 15 for transporting illegal lumber.
    The suspect was identified as Sony Klient Bagawi Ayan, 37, of Poblacion, Hungduan.
    Ayan was reportedly driving a Mitsubishi Delica van traversing the provincial road going towards Lawig, Lamut but miscalculated the road and maneuvered left and bumped the fence of a certain Baysa, hit an electric post that resulted to brown out of the whole barangay.
    Cops checked the vehicle where 206 board feet of gmelina lumber  worth P8,473.47 was found.
    Police asked for documents related to the lumber but the suspect failed to show any, prompting lawmen to arrest him.
    Ayan and the confiscated lumber were brought to Lamut police where he was investigated for damage to property and violation of Presidential 705.

Woman held for Ilagan sex- trafficking

ILAGAN CITY -- The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on 11 August arrested a woman and charged her for sex trafficking here.
    The suspect was identified as Nina Carlota Baquiran-Mansibang.
    NBI Isabela agents conducted a surveillance operation on Mansibang and communicated with Mansibang by posing as clients.
    Mansibang offered two young girls and arranged for a meetup.
    As part of the arrangement, the poseur client will pay the suspect P2,000 each for the two women, plus P800 each for pocket money.
    The agents met with Mansibang and the girls in Barangay Alibagu, Ilagan City, where the suspect was arrested after receiving marked money.
    The women were rescued and turned over to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development of Isabela.
Mansibang was presented for inquest proceedings before the City Prosecutor of Ilagan City, Isabela, for violation of RA 9208, as amended by R.A. 10364, or “The Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act.”
