47 wanted persons nabbed in Cordillera  

CAMP DANGWA. La Trinidad, Benguet – Some wanted 47 persons were arrested in Cordillera Sept. 19 to 25 for various crimes, Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee said.
    Benguet Provincial Police Office had the highest number of arrests with 19 followed by Baguio with 10; Abra,7; Ifugao,5; Apayao, 4 and Kalinga, 2.
    Wanted in the provincial level were Dante Callos and Joseph Emok Andres for rape, Rony Daigo Adchang aka “Pedro,” for theft, Jefferson Curamen Requiso aka “Ep-Ep for illegal drugs and Apolo Pangilinan for child abuse.
    Martin Buyuccan Kayangna aka “Nanomnoman” Lacson Pataras Segundo were arrested for rape.
    Tispuso Paet Ispiritu was nabbed for violation of Presidential Decree 705 or The Forestry Reform Code, Marife Cortez Baw-ay for violation of RA 7610 and Christopher Malwagay Manganip for cybercrime.
 


P678 million MJ burned in Cordillera plantations
 


CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – A regional police 5-day bigtime marijuana eradication operation dubbed Oplan Herodotus resulted in discovery and destruction of more than P678 million worth of fully grown marijuana plants and seedlings in hinterlands of the Cordillera from Sept. 23-27.
    A total of 72 marijuana plantation sites were discovered in Benguet, Kalinga and Mountain Province.
    In Benguet, a total of 11,850 marijuana plants and 24,780 seedlings worth P3,361, 200 were uprooted in 30 separate marijuana plantation sites discovered by police.
    In Kalinga, a total of P2, 241,500 fully-grown marijuana and 1,640 kilograms of dried marijuana worth P645,100,000 were also uprooted in 39 marijuana plantation sites found by authorities.
    In Mountain Province, 152,000 marijuana plants worth
    P 30,400,000 were destroyed in three marijuana plantation sites.
    All uprooted marijuana plants were burned at sites by police and other law enforcement agencies.
    In his visit in Tinglayan, Kalinga, Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee cited police for anti-drug operations.
 

Saudi national, 2 cohorts held for drugs in Baguio

BAGUIO CITY -- Three drug personalities in a buy-bust operation here in Barangay Gibraltar on Sept. 28.
    Regional police director bared this identifying suspects as Hamid Mohamed I Moustaph, 29, Saudi Arabian national, resident of La Trinidad, Benguet; Troy Adalim Mencio Jr., 23 and Daniel Paul Emperador Castro, 25, both residents of Baguio.
    Suspects were arrested by city police and narcotics agents after they sold to a cop marijuana weighing more or less 14.175 grams valued at P20,000.
    Seized from them were buy-bust money, cell phone and orange Ford Eco Sport vehicle used in the transaction.
Inventory of confiscated items was witnessed by prosecutor Don Emmanuel Vergara, barangay kagawad Gabriel Patong and media representative Janice Denis.
    The arrested suspects and confiscated items were brought to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency while charges for illegal drugs were filed against them.


P30-M marijuana burned in Sadanga

SADANGA, Mountain Province -- Police raided three marijuana farms here cannabis plants worth P30.4 million, according to the Philippine National Police .
    Lawmen said a total land area of 15,200 square meters, were discovered Sept. 25 in separate locations here in Sitio Paras, Barangay Saclit.
    Brig. Gen Ronald Lee, Cordillera PNP regional director, said a total of 152,000 fully grown marijuana plants were destroyed in the three cannabis farms.
    All uprooted marijuana plants were burned on site except for a few samples that were submitted to the Provincial Crime Laboratory Office in Bontoc for qualitative examination.
    An investigation is now underway to identify the owners and maintainers of the marijuana farms.


Covid protocol violator nabbed for illegal gun 


BANGUED, Abra -- A man flagged down for violating health protocols was arrested after operatives seized an unlicensed firearm in his possession here in Barangay Angad on Sept. 25. Police reports submitted to Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee identified the suspect as Jeffrey Bernardez Bulda, 27, farmer of Pidigan town. 
Reports said police were on patrol enforcing community quarantine protocols when they noticed the suspect who was not wearing face mask.
    Cops approached Bulda, but he suddenly pulled a gun from his bag making police to quickly stop the suspect and arrest him. Seized from the suspect was a S&W 357 magnum without serial number loaded with six bullets and additional 31 additional bullets for different guns.
    Bulda was brought to Bangued police station where ehe was deatined and charged for illegal firearm and bullets

5 nabbed for drugs in Nueva Ecija

CABANATUAN CITY – Five persons were arrested in anti-illegal drugs operations in Nueva Ecija on Sept. 19, police said.
    The suspects were identified as Alfie Santos, Virgilio Carreon, Remedios Lomibao, Eric Gamboa and Gilbert Simon.
    Col. Rhoderick Campo, Nueva Ecija police director, said operations were carried out in Palayan City and the towns of Jaen and Carranglan between 10:35 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.
    A total of 12 sachets of alleged “shabu” (crystal meth) and marked bills used in the operations were recovered from the suspects, police said.
    The suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs of 2002.
