P6-M MJ seized, 3 held at Kapangan checkpoint 

KAPANGAN, Benguet - Three persons were nabbed with P6 million worth of dried marijuana plants at a checkpoint here at Barangay Lomon, Paykek early morning of Oct. 4. 
    Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee identified the suspects as Mary Ann Felipe Del Rosario, 22; Simiano Tadina Patingan, 36 and Jun Comot Colera, 31.
    Kapangan police reportedly flagged down a Mitsubishi Montero and found the marijuana inside the vehicle.
    Cops noticed a protruding firearm which was tucked on the waist of Colera.
    Two sacks of dried marijuana weighing 50 kilos were confiscated from them.
    A Cal. 45 pistol loaded with seven bullets and the Montero Sport vehicle were confiscated from the suspects. 
    Prosecutor Winston Suaking, Barangay Captain Hanzel Manis and media representative Denver Bastingo witneseed inventory of seized items.
    The suspects and the confiscated items were brought to Kapangan police station where charges for illegal drugs were prepared against the suspects,
    Colera is facing additional charges for the violation of Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.


Woman nabbed 
for P17-K shabu

in Baguio City

BAGUIO CITY -- A woman was arrested after a buy- bust operation here at Barangay Upper Market early evening of Oct. 5.
Police said city cops arrested the suspect identified as Irine Andrada Yanes, 37, of Barangay Dominican.
    Yanes was arrested after she sold to a cop three sachets of suspected shabu weighing 0.7 grams worth P3,500.
    Police also seized additional seven sachet of suspected shabu weighing two grams valued at P13,600, buy-bust money and drug paraphernalia.
    Markings and inventory of the seized pieces of evidence were at the site witnessed by prosecutor Don Immanuel Vergara, kagawad Eusebio Soriano and media representative Janice Juanito.
    The suspect and seized items were brought to the city police station where a case for illegal drugs was prepared against her.
 

Riding in tandem shoot dead Abra tricycle driver

TAYUM, Abra -- A tricycle driver attending a wake was shot dead several times by a back rider here in Barangay Deet around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday.
    The victim was identified as Dionisio Sequerra Jr., 52, with live-in partner, from Barangay Macray Bangued.
    The suspects are still unidentified.
    Tayum police received information about the shooting incident by Barangay Deet chairman Bernardo Samuel Tacanay, prompting them to verify and found the tricycle driver bloodied and dead.
    Police investigation revealed the victim was sitting with his live-in partner outside the residence where a wake was being held.
    Suddenly, two men riding-in-tandem stopped in front of them.
    The back rider drew a gun prompting Seguerra to run inside the house. The gunman chased him and shot him five times killing him instantly.
    The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds on his body and head.
    The suspects fled away to south.
    Police found five fired empty shell, one deformed slug and one metallic fragment of Cal.45 pistol.
