La Trinidad PNP, execs, folks hold unity walk, signing for clean polls

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet –
Municipal police and officials held a “unity walk” here last week then signed a
“peace covenant for safe, honest and peaceful national and local elections in
May.
The municipal police was led by town police chief Col. Rodelio Dulnuan Olsim with municipal Commission on Elections head lawyer Romeo Aguilar Jr. and Ceasar Ating, municipal Local Government operation officer.
The event kicked off with the walk starting from La Trinidad municipal grounds heading towards km 6 Landbank then back joined by election candidates, multi-sectoral groups, stakeholders and local government agencies.
Advocacy groups also joined that included La Trinidad Interfaith organizations, La Trinidad KKDAT Chapter, La Trinidad Women’s Brigade, La Trinidad Muslim Chapter, Anahaw Force Multipliers, Benguet State University and Cordillera Career Development College Army ROTC units, CCDC criminology interns and La Trinidad police.
After the unity walk, an ecumenical prayer was facilitated by interfaith organizations represented by Rev. Esther K Balawag, United Church of Christ in the Philippines administrative pastor and Uztad Abul Maskara of La Trinidad Muslim Chapter.

He urged electoral candidates to abide by rules and regulations stipulated in the Omnibus Election Code and candidates’ cooperation in sustaining peace and order during the campaign period.
