5 nabbed in Baguio, LT Apayao for illegal drugs

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad – Five persons were arrested in Cordillera early last week for illegal drugs.
Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee identified those arrested May 16 as Ibalzon Cadangen, 37; John Ariam Paul Magramo Magro, 28; and Joemamil Valera Dipatuan, 37.
    Cadangen was arrested in Bagjuio City by operatives of Baguio City Police Office and PDEA-CAR after he sold suspected shabu weighing around 0.79 grams worth P5,372 to a lawman.
    Additional shabu worth P 5,032.00 was confiscated from him.
    In Pudtol, Apayao, suspect Magro was arrested by police after he sold shabu weighing around 0.14 grams valued at P1,000 to a cop who acted as buyer.
    In La Trinidad, Benguet, Dipatuan was arrested by operatives of the Benguet Police Provincial Office after he sold three sachets of suspected shabu worth P3,536 also to lawman who posed as buyer.
    In Baguio City, two men are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after they were caught in a separate buy-bust operation here on May 15.
Based on reports submitted to Lee, the suspects were identified as Arjay Fidelino Simeon, 25 and Rey Christopher Navarro Abero, 38.
    The regional police information office said joint operatives of Abanao Police Station, City Drug Enforcement Unit and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested suspect “Arjay” at Barangay Burnham-Legarda after he sold suspected shabu weighing around 0.70 grams worth P4,760 to a lawman.
    Marijuana leaves worth P108 also was confiscated from his possession.
    Meanwhile, in a separate operation at Abanao St. Extension, suspect “Rey” was arrested after he sold around 0.5 grams of suspected shabu worth P3,400 to a cop. Shabu weighing around 0.4 grams worth Php 2,720.00 was also confiscated from him.
    Inventory of seized items was witnessed by Dept. of Justice and media representatives.
    The suspects and confiscated items were brought to the respective police stations.


35 wanted persons nabbed in Cordillera

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Police arrested 35 wanted persons in Cordillera from May 8 to 14.
    According to records of the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division, Baguio City Police Office recorded the highest number of arrests with 20 followed by Benguet PPO with 11 and Abra with four.
    Six individuals listed as most wanted persons, of which, three were listed in the provincial level, two, municipal and one station level.
    Conrado Gunaden, listed as No. 2 most wanted was arrested, Gilbert Ordonio, listed no. 8 and Edison Wabe, no. 9, were all arrested for rape.
    Meanwhile, at the municipal level, Lopez Tayaotao and Avon Eve Ilagan both listed no. 1 were arrested for violation of Republic Act 9262 or Anti-violence against women and their children Act of 2004 and Republic Act 7610 or "Special protection of children against abuse, exploitation and discrimination Act.", respectively.
    At station level, Aljon Agustin listed no. 8 was arrested for theft.
