7 held for drugs in Cordi; two MJ plantations found

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet –
Seven men were arrested in Baguiofor illegal drugs on May 26 and 27 while two
marijuana plantations were discovered in Kibungan Benguet.
Cordillera
police director Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee identified the suspects as Charles
Licudine Bonilla, 24; Christopher Galingan Madarang, 24; Lorenzo Buston
Bulawit, 26; Joseph Sabido, 44; and Jomar Lacorte Viloria, 37.
Bonilla,
Madarang and Bulawit were caught in the act using suspected shabu.
Three
plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 0.8 grams worth P5,440 were
confiscated from them during the arrest.
Sabido was
arrested by Baguio police after he sold one sachet of suspected shabu weighing
more or less 0.13 grams worth P884.
Additional
0.18 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,224 were confiscated from him.
Meanwhile,
Viloria was arrested by Regional PNP Drug Enforcement Unit cops after he sold
suspected shabu weighing MOL 2.5 grams worth P17,000.
Two
additional drug personalities were arrested in Baguio City while P90,000.00
worth of marijuana plants were destroyed in Benguet on May 27.
Suspects
were identified as Verde Dumagcao, 43; and Villanuevo Valenzuela, 36.
Dumagcao was
arrested by the joint operatives of Baguio City Police Office and PDEA-CAR
after he sold suspected shabu weighing around 0.5 grams valued at P3,400.
In Barangay
Loakan Proper, Baguio, Villanuevo was arrested after a search warrant
implemented in his residence which resulted in seizure of three plastic sachets
of suspected shabu weighing around 1.5 grams worth P10,200, nine empty bullet
shells, ammunition and one hand grenade.
Suspects are
now facing charges for illegal drugs. Additional charge for illegal ammunition
was filled against Villanuevo.
Meanwhile in
Tacadang, Kibungan Benguet, joint operatives of Benguet police and PDEA
operatives discovered two marijuana plantations planted with 450 fully grown
marijuana plants worth 90,000.
All
marijuana plants were uprooted and destroyed on-site. No cultivator was
apprehended during.
Investigation
is ongoing to identify cultivators.
