ANTIPOLO CITY -- Some 60 constituents of the Baguio City local government unit visited this city to learn the local government’s best practices.
Antipolo City Mayor Andrea “Andeng” Ynares shared photos of the benchmarking activity on her social media page on May 29.
The local government prepared various talks on their programs and initiatives involving good governance and transparency, infrastructure, social waste management, livelihood and job creation, as well as tourism.
They also visited the Office of the City Treasurer, particularly the Revenue Operations Division and Real Property Tax Section.
Taas noo nating ipagmalaki na mapamalayo man o malapit, kilala ang Antipolo City sa husay pagdating sa serbisyo publiko (Let’s be proud that no matter how near or far, Antipolo City is recognized for its efficient public services),” said Ynares.
Ynares said that prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, many cities, provinces, and schools in the country have visited the city due to their “excellent work ethic and values, work performance, and compassion for others”.
The local governments of the Western Province of Sri Lanka and Laujar de Andarax, Spain have also paid courtesy calls to the Antipolo LGU.
Ynares urged the Antipolo citizens to be united and work together to further the achievements of the city.
Antipolo City was recognized as the top Most Competitive City (MCC) for three consecutive years from 2017 to 2019 by the National Competitiveness Council (NCC) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
The city garnered the top 2 spot of the MCC in 2021.
In March 2022, the city was one of the LGUs with the best practices that were awarded at the National Vaccination Days Recognition Awarding Ceremony for their Covid-19 vaccination program.
The city was recognized for having the highest Covid-19 jabs administered during the first and second days of the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan”, and one of the cities in Region 4A with that swiftly reached herd immunity.
