11 held for drugs; P7-M shabu, marijuana seized

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet -- Eleven “drug personalities” were
arrested while around P7 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in
Cordillera Nov. 27 to Dec. 3.
Records from the police Regional Operations Division bared Baguio City Police Office arrested five while Kalinga Police Provincial Office nabbed four.
Benguet and Ifugao police arrested one each.
In Baguio City, arrested were Tommy Ladiocan, 50; Mark Edrick Rafer, 35; Audrey Josh Monsalud, 25; Michael George Ventenilla, 27; and Ephraim Yango, 36.
In Kalinga, arrested were Albert Dugwawi, 29; Christian Gragasin, 29; Richard Arugay, 33 and Eugene Mandilag, 28.
In Benguet, Jerbin Velasco, 37, was arrested while Jhim Bala-oy, 20, was arrested in Ifugao.
The weeklong anti-illegal drugs operations resulted in seizure of 2.37 grams of shabu and 48.001 grams of marijuana leaves and fruiting tops all worth P5,776, 236.00.
All arrested suspects are now facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, seven marijuana plantation sites were discovered in the municipality of Bakun and Kibungan in Benguet.
Members of Kibungan and Bakun town police including Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit discovered 200 fully-grown marijuana plants and 1,650 marijuana seedlings worth P2,066,000.
All discovered marijuana plants were uprooted at plantations while investigations are ongoing to identify cultivators of the marijuana plantation sites.
