Jenelyn Olsim seeks to redeem herself big time after absorbing a huge knockout loss against Chinese opponent Meng Bo in ONE: 164 last Dec. 3, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Olsim suffered the biggest loss of her career so far as Meng Bo only needed 24 seconds to finish the Team Lakay stalwart.
Meng Bo landed a solid right hook which sent Olsim down the canvas before punishing the Team Lakay contender with vicious elbow strikes.
This was Olsim’s recent loss since yielding to Ritu Phogat last October 2021 via unanimous decision.
The Igorot warrior is keeping her choices open as Meng Bo, despite emerging victorious, demands a rematch after missing her weight and initially failing the hydration test.
This prompted for the bout to proceed in a catchweight bout instead.
While Meng Bo’s victory is convincing as it is, the Chinese fighter still wanted a rematch and this could be a good opportunity for Olsim to redeem herself.
“I am open for any other matches in the future. I think she wants a rematch ‘cos she did not get her weight,” said Olsim. “But this loss, for me it happened so fast. If ever I have to change anything, I will do it just not to lose like this again.”
Olsim slipped to a 6-4 record while Meng Bo, who snapped her two-match skid, improved to a 20-6 slate.
