2 from Trinidad, Manaoag drown in P’sinan waters

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Two persons drowned in Bolinao and Agno towns in this province afternoon of July 23.

Separate reports from the Ilocos region police identified the victims as Salin Butag, 71, of La Trinidad, Benguet, and Raymond de Vera, 22, of Manaoag, Pangasinan.

Investigation showed  Butag and her two grandsons were swimming in a shallow portion of a beach in Barangay Patar, Bolinao when she was swept away by the current.

Meanwhile, De Vera drowned as he and his friends were swimming on a beach in Agno.

De Vera’s friends rushed him to the Dasol Community Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival, police said.
