Youth urged: Boost role to attain Cordi regional autonomy

LAMUT, Ifugao --
The regional National Economic and Development Authority participated in the
Cordillera regional autonomy summit and youth fora here Dec. 1 at Ifugao State
University Lamut campus urging the youth to take larger role in attaining it.
Here, Legriv Vilee I. Marquez, representing regional director Susan A. Sumbeling, presented overview of the Cordillera Regional Development Plan 2023-2028.
Marquez bared the regional development framework to improve people's lives, boost the economy and create an enabling environment through responsive and inclusive governance, climate action and disaster risk reduction, sustainable infrastructure, and culture-sensitive governance and development.
He bared development strategies that can benefit youth and identified areas where they can actively engage and participate as partners in regional development. Marquez said regional autonomy is integrated in the plan and is important in achieving inclusive and sustainable development in the region.
He cited the youth's pivotal role in shaping the region's present and future, urging the young adults to voice out their perspectives and actively engage with various sectors and stakeholders.
The Regional Development Council Cordillera Administrative Region oversees implementation of CAR RDP 2023-2028.
It is venue for stakeholders to provide relevant policies and push development projects to attain its outcomes and goals toward the attainment of socioeconomic transformation for a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient Cordillera.
He said NEDA-CAR is committed in actively involving the youth in regional development like by participating in the Cordillera Regional Autonomy Summit and Youth Fora.
The inaugural event was hosted by Kalinga State University followed by IFSU.
Upcoming events were held at University of the Cordilleras on Dec. 4 and Mountain Province State Polytechnic College Dec. 7.
