Trillianes (again) /Dangerous gangs
RUDY GARCIA

BAGUIO CITY -- First, they staged a mutiny cum coup de etat at Oakwood Hotel, premiere of Makati years back but failed. Their case is now on trial in military tribunal and at a judicial court in makati. Antonio Trillanes IV who was among those Magdalo soldier-mutineers ran and won for a senate seat but was not able to perform his regular stint as a senator because of his detention.

And now, this Magdalo group again tried to overthrow the administration through the same action they did at Oakwood. Worst, some political, religious and media personalities were allegedly involved.

The Manila Pen siege started when Trillanes along with Brig. General Danilo Lim attended the hearing of their Oakwood case in a Makati trial court. In the middle of the hearing, somebody pulled over Lim from the bench witness stand and together with Trillanes and the rest of the Magdalo soldiers, walked out from the courtroom. I was a wonder how these people got out that easy from the court without any apprehensions.

This only showed how clumsy the police were in securing court premises. The actuations of Trillanes and his group also showed their disrespect to the court and our laws. Patriotism couldn’t justify their unbecoming behavior as military officers and as a senator of this republic.

As they marched along the long stretch of Ayala Avenue they shouted for support from the public and urged them to join their “Peoples Power” after which the group proceeded at the Manila Peninsula hotel and the rest is now history.

I have a high regard and respect to the ideology and whatever Trillanes and his group are fighting for but their drastic action put them deeper into the pit. I guess they cannot have the sympathy and the support of the public if they continue to do this no matter how they do this in good faith. This is inciting to sedition. It’s rebellion.

Equally disappointing was how members of media were treated. It was really some kind of a joke when these overacting lawmen trained their high powered firearms at the members of the media.

These assault teams even handcuffed and tied nylon cords on arms of some members of the media, before hauling them to the NCRPO headquarters as though this was some kind of a
hijacking or kidnapping. I hope this will not be another plus factor for us Pinoys as No. 1 laughingstock among all countries.

Maybe Trillanes could be made to answer some of his wrongdoings but we agree to some of his words against the government. Maybe we have not seen it first hand, but now it’s becoming clear that this Banana Republic is indeed in a de facto state of martial law. So media beware, baka kasi mapuno si Puno ipadampot na naman kayo!

With all those blah blahs, I guess, It’s proper that the Baguio City council’s car plan controversy be put into rest. Yes, I guess most of us don’t agree that the city council approve this car plan which is not in conformity with the government call for austerity.

Forget those pinpointing and faultfinding. Forget the city mayor veto of the resolution and the city council’s overriding the veto. Most important, the fund intended for the car plan was proposed to be diverted to other projects like solid waste management concern.

How true is it that there exists fixing activities at the Land Transportation Office in Baguio. According to my bubwit, this group of fixers roams around the vicinity at LTO particularly outside the office of the licensing division.

They look around or even peep at the windows to look for people who want to fastrack the facilitation of their application for new or renewal of their licenses. Accordingly, some personnel at the LTO are reportedly in cahoots with these fixers, and if you see somebody assisting an applicant secure a required drug test certificate. he could be a said fixer. I will bet my last centavo if they say he is not. I just don’t have an idea how much is involved.

It is but interesting to know if the lady big boss LTO Registrar Madame Theodora “Ala ey” Caguicla who is my “kumare” is aware of what is happening under her turf. If not, then she should go out from her office and investigate and impose sanctions on her personnel if they are found guilty of having joint partnerships with these fixers! Ala ey Gising!

Are we going to wait for the worst thing to happen before we act seriously on these brewing street wars of young gang groups in Baguio? I’ve been calling the attention of concerned authorities regarding this matter of concern but it seems they really didn’t take this seriously, the reason why street violence caused by these young gang cum fraternity groups continue.

Nevertheless, I still hope on the kind of caliber our authorities have, the reason I am now giving them hints for their reference. These are only some of the active gang groups cum fraternities roaming around the town and their corresponding color codes through their. handkerchiefs according to our bubwits: North Side Terrorist, Brown East Side Terrorist, Widrega (orange), Bloods (white),Creeps (red) God Made Creeps, Pinoy True Creeps (blue), Dogg Town Creeps (blue), RDF (blue) Black Sudden Death Gang, Black Jungle Town (green) and Samahang Ilocano.

These are some young gang groups who pretend to be frat groups who should be closely monitored by authorities. To stop these groups from further sowing terror on the streets is not far fetched if only our authorities and the parents join hands in resolving this matter of concern!

Political will at moral obligation lamang ang kelangan diyan, hoy, gisiiiing!
