2 brothers shot, hacked dead in Abra over goat
By Mar T. Supnad
TAYUM, Abra- Owing to a stray goat, two brothers were mercilessly shot and hached dead Tuesday afternoon by a father and son in barangay Bagalay, this town.
Sr. Supt. Alex Pumecha, provincial police director, said Francis and his brother Marlon Ducusin were reportedly shot dead by Bernardo Tereza and his son Joseph after the victim’s goat destroyed their crops in the said barangay.
Not contented in shooting the victims, the two suspects reportedly hacked dead the two brothers as they lay on the ground.
The suspects used 9mm caliber and bolo in killing the victims.
Police said, however, that the incident was motivated by personal grudge and not politics.
The police arrested Joseph while his father is being hunted.
Former Mayor Rogelio Elvena condemned the broad daylight killing as he asked police to further intensify their campaign against criminality in the small town of Tayum.
Residents have noted a rash of killings in different parts of Abra the past months even as police said they were doing their best to improve peace and order in the province.
