Two treasure hunters died due to gas poisoning in a tunnel in Bauko, Mountain Province last Thursday, even as a private miner was electrocuted inside a mine shaft in Acupan Itogon Benguet Friday.

In the Bauko incident, police said the two, Jose Goyek Irigo, 45 and Victor Baliga, 55, were draining water in the tunnel with the use of a water pump when they collapsed.

A private miner was electrocuted inside a mine shaft in Acupan Itogon Benguet.

The victim was identified as Bonifacio Agsiseyo a resident in Acupan area where he also works.

Agsiseyo was supposed to go home Friday afternoon after his daily work
inside a mine shaft of one of private mines in the area when suddenly he got electrocuted when he was on his way out.

The victim was then rushed to Baguio General Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

His co-miners said Agsiseyo might have touched a wire in a shaft. He was reportedly not the first victim of this kind of accident but there were also other victims who died in the same mines because of accidental electrocution and other causes.

The contractors and miners are inspected the area to avoid more deaths.
