3 men nabbed for violating gun ban

BANGUED, Abra -- Three persons were arrested in the Cordillera last week for illegally possessing guns in violation of the Commission on Elections gun ban.
Senior Supt. Roberto Soriano, Task Force Abra chief identified one violator as Ramil Banayos here of Sitio Impolo, Agtangao.
Banayos was arrested by joint elements of TFA, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and Abra police office under Senior Supt. Amando Lagiwid. Confiscated from the suspect was a Cal. 45 pistol with seven bullets.
In another operation, police said Jovencio Balweg, 31 of Barangay Linasin here was nabbed inside the Barney’s Videoke Bar for illegally possessing a Magnum 357 pistol with five bullets ammunitions.
In Bulanao, Tabuk, Kalinga, police also arrested Kelly Andowag, student at a checkpoint for carrying allegedly carrying a Cal. 38 pistol with with six bullets.
Charges were filed against all suspects in court.
