3 dead, 15 hurt as jeep falls off cliff in La Union

SANTOL, La Union – Three men were killed while 5 others, including two minors, were seriously injured when the passenger jeep they were riding fell down a 30-meter ravine in the mountainous village of Ramot in this town Tuesday morning.
At the provincial police headquarters in Camp Diego Silang Senior Supt, Ramon Purugganan, La Union police director, identified the fatalities as Anthony Bagawe Jr.; Luciano Dangla, 42 and Lorenzo Ancheta, 25.
Purugganan said the passenger jeep had just come from the remote area of Sasaba near the La Union-Benguet boundary when it lost its brakes.
Jeepney driver Domingo Dangla tried to prevent misfortune by crashing the jeep into the roadside, but it instead fell off the cliff.
