BAGUIO CITY – Concerned residents of Barangay Manuel Roxas here petitioned the city government to immediately stop the operation of the Chill Out Beer house located at No. 2 Leonard Wood Loop considering it is located within a residential area.
Because the establishment was permitted to operate in a residential area as evidenced by its business permit, the residents argued that the operation of the beer house grossly violates several ordinances of the city government such as Administrative order No. 114, series of 2005 which orders the time frame for the operation of all businesses such as bars, nightclubs, beer gardens, videokes, billiard halls, computer centers among others.
Another local legislation violated by Chill Out beer house is Ordinance No. 88, series of 2009 further amending Ordinance No. 1, series of 1990 amending Ordinance No. 25, series of 1987 entitled fixing a liquor code of the city and fixing the hours of operation of liquor stores.
Furthermore, the establishment’s operation violates Ordinance No. 17, series of 2008 amending Ordinance No. 118, series of 1988 which requires folk dens, folk houses among others near beside or adjacent to hotels, inns and residential houses to install and provide sound proof devises and noise absorbers and similar facilities to minimize, lessen and decrease the volume of the sound coming there from.
Due to the aforesaid violations of the establishment, the concerned residents reiterated their appeal to the city government to investigate the violations of the establishments and other related facts that are legal grounds for the cancellation, revocation or confiscation of its businesses permit that will lead to the eventual closure of the establishment.
